I don't think this is necessarily going to be a common occurrence in this series. I think game 2 will be a whole different story. These players have some professional pride.

They won't be thirty point games, but I think the Spurs will have control the vast majority of the time in this series. Thunder are good, but the Spurs are just on another level from them.

@Hornsstampede2.0 what are your thoughts on the series?

My thoughts were whether Ibaka can guard Aldridge 1-on-1.
If Ibaka was the 2012 version of dominant defense Ibaka, it would be a resounding yes.

But, I am not sure if 2016 Ibaka can guard him.
OKC has nobody else on the entire team that is an Aldridge defender.

If Ibaka struggles with LA, the Spurs will be in good shape.
Tonight's result was flukish...but I am encouraged that Aldridge won that battle early and often.

OKC will make adjustments.
Ibaka will probably get the better of him a few times, but the series will hinge on that matchup.

Did that Giant really go to the line and knock down 2 free throws?

Drummond and Jordan need their ass whooped.

Friend of mine picked the Spurs in 5 and possibly 4, I picked them in 6, but am now rethinking that one.

Thunder maybe the dumbest team in the league, too bad with the talent they have. Just goes to show what a well coached fundamental team can do compared to undisciplined team.

Yes, OKC will play better, but, I think SA's defense is essentially built for teams like OKC.

They are too good defending the rim, and Leonard, Green, Ginobli and crew are easily the best group of wing defenders in the league. Tony Parker has somebody to hide on too. OKC is going to have a difficult time. I don't think this series gets past 5 games.

Please, no more games like this.

It sucked that this was the only one played yesterday.

That game was so ugly I started watching hockey.

Billy Donovan could have walked to center court and had Pops pull his pants down and it would have been less embarrassing than that performance.

Hmmm... the Spurs are pretty good.

I still think this is a 6-7 game series.

Side Note: It just occurred to me that there might be Finals games occurring 4 hours from where I live. I hereby promise myself that if the Finals ends up being SAS-CLE.... I am going to a game.

Do you live in Dallas?

Yes, just moved here a little over a year ago.

Nice. I may be hitting you up regarding nice places to live in Dallas (so far I'm eyeing Plano). I love Seattle, but holy shit is the price of living sky rocketing. Only place I've seen where the asking price for a house far exceeds the sell price.

Cool. Feel free anytime. Plano is a good choice, imo. I live near the Plano/Richardson border. Its about as close as you can get to Dallas and still be in a nice area.

I know what you mean. When I took this job I had 3 other offers... 1 in Seattle, 1 in Southern CA, and 1 in Boston. The salary sounded amazing in those places... but once I figured in the cost of living... the offer in Dallas was actually far superior.

When the Spurs play like this they are unbeatable. I think they are the favorites even if Curry was healthy, no disrespect to them but they are looking like they have the better defense and the offense isn't too bad either lol.

Yeah, I'm just slightly over 6-figures, yet I live in a luxury studio apartment which comes out to about $1500 per month. Couple that with a $500 per month car payment plus a 9.8% sales tax, I feel broke. Thankfully the company I work for has an office in Dallas and Austin.

Ok, yeah, moving from Seattle to Dallas while keeping the same salary will feel like a substantial rise.
