Likely a little of both, but moreso on the players. We don't know what adjustments the coaching staff tried to make that either didn't work, or the players didn't execute.

They're a young team that got 2 huge leads at home and blew them both because they decided the game was over. It happens...not usually twice in the same game, but it happens.

If they learn from it, it could end up being a positive for them.

We do know the coach didn't call one single timeout during a 21-0 run.

Oooh, I didn't catch that (was working while watching lol). Yeah, that's not good. Letting them figure it out is okay in the regular season (Phil Jackson used to do that), not so much in the playoffs.

It is also a lot different when you have a team of vets led by MJ and Scottie or Kobe and Shaq vs a young group mostly new to playoff basketball.

And even at that, I don't remember Phil doing that much at all in the playoffs. Maybe in a first round game against an overmatched team. But not against teams that were actually a threat.

He was sitting there hands on his hips just like every other timberwolves down the stretch, however. Twice in the late 3rd early fourth he screamed at his team to get him the ball in the post. They never passed it. Bev, rus and ant went about 10 straight possessions just dribbling it up and hoisting a contested 3.
