Knowing what he had in Doncic, even if true, can you not understand why someone would not want to pay nearly $20 mil for a backup?

I said nothing like that. Are you slow?

All I did is confirm Turnup point about Cuban wanting DJJ instead of Dragic

Dragic was an all-star last season.
Certainly good enough to start for Miami, Dallas, and many other teams.
You want to hold it against him that he’s a team player?
As far as money, not an issue for Cuban.

Not only that, how much money would he generate having to 2 best Slovenians?
It was crazy in Miami when they played against each other.

If they have Dragic, maybe they are up 1-0 vs Clippers , or better yet maybe they are a higher seed and avoid them.

So who knows if it was a real offer he turned down? Not saying you are lying but cannot find anything that says Mavs turned it down. Only that it looked like a deal that was going down that obviously did not.

No chance Heat chose to deal Whiteside instead?

Google ‘cuban voids deal for Dragic’.
Easier then copy/pasting.

Reading, Cuban thought Wright was the answer. He was wrong.

My guess is that if he could do it again, today, he’d take Dragic for the 1 year 20M, and then go from there.

My guess is Herro the real deal, but might want to wait more than one season to be sure. and Duncan has only had 1 good season as well. Oladipo and Brogdon damn good. McConnell? Meh.

Oladipo is still a good NBA starter.

But he isn’t the same guy he was pre injury when he looked like an annual all star.

If he were that guy right now I might agree with the far better comment.

But he isn’t.

If you have to invest in one or the other, long term, the choice is easy.

yah- Pacers are screwed if their 2 All Star caliber players- Oladipo and Sabonis- play a total of 9 minutes in a playoff game.

This just does not seem like its going to be their year.

Although, yes, you want a full roster, injuries are part of the game.
Oladipo not playing, isn't anything new to them this season, and with Sabonis out they have looked quite good most of the time playing small ball.
They are a 4 seed, not some scrub roster that snuck in as an 8 seed with an under .500 record.

I know its above you to say what a nice job Riley did with the drafting of Bam and Herro, or to say how the Heat constantly finds players in the G league or whatever its called and develop them into NBA assets.

And, let's not forget the signing of Butler, who has been nothing but spectacular. Go back and read your comments on him after the signing.

Wasn't Philly your team to beat?
Butler was their best player in the playoffs last year.
Are you still trusting their process?

Point not really directed at you was more in general pointing out why a guy who drafted Doncic might not have wanted to spend nearly $20 mil on his backup.

So, no, not slow. You?

Money is, in fact, an issue when you play in a sport with a cap. Don't doubt Dragic still a more than solid player. But he'd be more desirable on a team where he's the clear starting PG.

When I tried yesterday I used Mavs (not Cuban). My mistake.

Found some articles. Seems could have been done and he wanted other players, which is understandable, as mentioned, as why pay $20 mil for a guy you hope will be Doncic's backup? Not directed at you @bksballer89 so no need to get your panties in a wad again.

If you want to rip Cuban I guess you could but then shouldn't you be ripping your own team for being willing to deal him as clearly your team needs him?

Seemed to say he wanted Jones/Olynyk from Heat and more. doubt the "and more" would have been insignificant. Player for player(s) Dragic the best of the bunch no doubt. and he did strike out with Wright it seems.

Guy is still only 28, but, yeah, decline last 2 seasons a concern.

Which guards on the Mavs other Doncic , are better then Dragic?
