It’s playoffs at the Garden. You’re just not getting a fair whistle. It is what it is. Sixers didn’t make enough plays at the end. Maxey needs to be stronger with the ball.

Maxey can’t disappear in the 3rd quarter like that. He had a great game but the stakes are higher now.

The story coming out of this game though is going to be the rotten officiating disparity seen in this series. I guess hand checking is allowed again in the NBA.

Sixers in 6. Sixers fixed the rebounding. They fixed the non-Embiid minutes. They’ll use the home games to get some Oubre Harris Lowry Hield production going and win 4 in a row. After tonight, you would have to think that the Brunson grifting situation is over and he’s gonna have to finally make a living making field goals and not gifted foul shots.

Sixers lost though because of poor end of game management. Maxey strong on the ball. Lowry a poor choice to go with quick inbounds. Sideline not getting a time out on a made bucket to advance the ball. That’s unacceptable this time of year.

Yeah in that situation you have to take a timeout to get a nice inbound play set up. No need to rush to get the ball in unless the defense in sleeping. Also Lowry with that crucial missed ft

I think the 2 days off will help Embiid the next 2 games. I don't know if they win the series but I do expect it to be a best of 3 following the 2 games in Philly

They did. They used the timeout after the knicks took the lead on the 3 so they had 1 left on that play where the refs refused to grant them the timeout. Refs been bad enough for Philly in this series and now this lol yeah I would be absolutely livid as a Sixers fan

It’s all about Nurse and his actions which should be scrutinized. If Nurse was late or he was wishy washy that’s on Nurse and it’s not on the crew. If Nurse is clear and decisive with his actions then it’s on the crew. It’s all about how Nurse acted. It’s the crew’s responsibility to have eyes on the inbounding coach after made bucket.

One thing I’ve dealt with when reffing is when a crowd is screaming, “time” and “five” sound very similar

Yeah, it was hard to tell what he was doing. With everything that was going on and all the noise, you have to run up as close to the ref as possible to call that.

Learned that the hard way in my first season coaching high school. lol

It’s the Garden. You know that you aren’t getting calls there. Maxey has to be strong on the basketball there and not put it in hands of refs to whistle in the Garden. He has to do a better job.

Sixers aren’t down 0-2 because of calls. A slanted whistle is the way of the NBA. You have to play through it.
