More loft is better, unless you've got a 100MPH swing. Is this one of those grapefruit-on-a-stick oversized mo fo's? They will hit the ball a ton even if you do a 3/4 swing. That's what i had to do to curb my slices, I stopped pulling the clubhead over my shoulders.

Otherwise, I'm no professional, so I'd say get to a coach if you can afford it. Do you use a 2- or 1-iron, since you can hit those straight?

i just picked up a 4 iron...but I usually hit my 6 iron off the tee. my set came with hybrids 3-4-5, which i don't love either.

I don't hit hybrids yet, but I'm sure I will get into them the closer I get to 50. My set is ancient, so my 2-iron is close to the loft on your 4. As long as I can hit it straight, I don't care about the distance.
