yeah, he's really hurting the Reds with that NL-leading .435 OBP. Also 6th in WAR.

this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.

leads MLB in intentional walks, hard to produce on an intentional walk

I wonder how many RBIs Phillips would have if he didn't have the guys with the two highest OBPs in the NL batting in front of him.

Reds fans think a 2nd baseman with a sub-100 OPS+ is the better player. Jesus fucking Christ.

Happy Monday morning :)

Brewers sweep the Marlins allowing no runs in 31 innings vs them with Sunday's game going 13.

Look for Stanton to be traded to a contender soon.

He was...it was close, so not an absolutely terrible call...but a bad one...he got his hand in and the tag came down right after it...

Heard the same, very close

Tough loss, yanks fought this weekend, CC is just horrible, really disappointing

Doubrondt impresses me, Ellsbury is a pain in the balls, that guy is getting 125mill I think

Joey Votto is currently the most overrated "great player" in baseball.

Over the last 2 seasons, he has exactly 29 HR's and 100 RBI...that's in 209 games and 912 plate appearances.

The guy is a turd, and he's almost singlehandedly keeping the Reds from being the clear best team in baseball with his lack of power production.

Ludwick is beginning a rehab on Wednesday though, and taking 2 of 3 over the weekend is acceptable, so there is good news.

Thought you vented about that Sunday?

Maybe he stopped taking PED's. Never trust a player from Canada anyways except in hockey.

Said it last week...the guy throws batting practice now...not sure if he's over the cliff completely...but unless that velocity comes back? He's done being elite.

Hosmer has 23 hrs and 101 rbi, and nowhere near the peripheral numbers

And thats in 245 games

he has great plate discipline and walks like its nobodies business

outside of that, yes...overrated entirely  (kidding)

his OBP the last few years is nutty:

.414
.424*
.416*
.474*
.435*

* led/leads MLB

Don't care. That's not his job.

His job is to be a hammer...to drive the ball out of the park and drive in runs.

This lineup needs him to do that, and he isn't.

And Hosmer isn't making $25 mil per.

That contract demands more than just singles and walks.

Plus, Votto has become slow, he's played average D at best this season, and he's something like 4-27 with 2 out and RISP.

Might not be a bigger surprise on the Sox than how Dubrount has fought back from showing up to camp out of shape...

I sitll think Jacoby isn't more than a $15m per year player...6 years $90m would be as far as I go...
