My dad was a HS umpire for 20 yrs. His saying "if it sounds like a strike it's a strike". Also if the catcher moves his glove trying to frame it he always calls it a ball.

A good catcher makes a pitcher. A kid that can frame, block and pick the ball gives a pitcher confidence to throw anything. A catcher that is smart enough to give the blue what he's looking for is golden
