I think that's how it goes for a lot of players. Straw especially. People remember his drug problems and him bumping around. He was incredible in his 20's.

Exactly! It's what happens when guys have 20 year careers. I only the last half of Gwynn's career when he was still an awesomehitter, but looked a little soft. Couldn't believe he stole 56 bases in a season early on....

Strawberry was still a monster later in his career. Loved him on the 98 Yankees. Still happy i got David Justice who has similar career numbers

The Strawberry, Gary Carter, Doc Gooden Mets were one of my favorite baseball teams ever, along with the Henderson, Canseso, McGuire A's. They were fun to watch

I hated that A's team! I was always a huge fan of Strawberry though, didn't he play for the St. Paul Saints for a bit to help him get back into the game? I might be way off but I swear he did...
