I think competitions like this are really cool and I'd be in favor of more stat based competitions. My suggestion regarding the voting stuff was to get outside opinions but as I recall the results there were mixed at best.

I think I even remember saying I'd run simulations on Out of the park baseball lol but it's tough because it requires a specific year to be used and it skews towards high peak players and not best overall.

And? Wouldn't it be smart to try to pick the best players as much as possible lol. It's going to be the same no matter max.

But really it was more difficult to select the best players early in the season, it was all on projection. I was selecting players 2-3 months at a time so using this strategy didn't allow me to go with the "hot" players necessarily.

In the end, you can use any strategy and it comes down to luck just like anything. Pitcher-batter matchup can only help you so much.
