I think we do rank our own teams.

I like 1-8 per positions. When you say best QB are you saying best starter or does that also include the backup? I am running a 3-4 compared to most teams 4-3. I will have different positions with a NT then others. How does that work?

Good point. QB should be different, a backup will never play unless injuries occur. That is really the only position we have to worry about that circumstance though.

I was also wondering about the 3-4 to 4-3 comparision

I guess that's up to the person doing the ranking. I guess you could look at it like does he belong there, what is his skill level or whatever else you vote on. Remember your ranking on the players themselves not the players COMPARED to someone else's players.

This is however one reason I like when we all draft the same way but in football it's difficult because you have guys that play different systems.

Now are rankings just to determine the tie breaker?

SI

I like this way so much more than simply ranking teams. It forces us to really look a team and not just vote ranked on a couple guys.

I just wanna take a minute before I leave work to thank you all for being so active and such great people. I believe we are steadily getting better at this not only in the players we pick and teams we put together but we have made great progress in how we determine our winners.

Thank you...

My suggestion we rank each player on the 25 man roster. 1-10 (10 is best) You will get lots of 9-10's but with backup QB's you might only give the team/player a 4 because he was so-so as a player. The later round guys and backups also probably won't receive a 10 so it will determine who did draft the overall best team. There for it doesn't matter what def scheme you still will be ranking 25 guys. Then we start the playoffs. Someone with the best team of individuals voted on already could lose in the 1st round because their opponent has a better overall team. Remember you could give the guy a 10 because he was a great DE but the scheme determines if he is a good fit.

That is going to be double the work. We have to rank 25 positions for 8 different teams. That's 200 rankings haha

Yeah I'm with Shane. All that work just seems unnecessary just to determine a tiebreaker

What's your suggestion sir?

It is a lot of work but it forces everyone to evaluate every ones team instead of just briefly looking over a team and saying rank of 6. Not so much accountability but accuracy of the rankings. We have had several ties in the past and this is by the fairest way to have someone move on in the playoffs. We have 8 teams so a 4-4 tie is very possible.
