There is no need for a list. The by far greatest player to ever play can didn't win a Heisman. End of thread.

Because he didn't deserve it and we know it. Lee Roy Selmon did deserve it.

Zeke Elliott......

and I have to say, it still blows my mind how Maurice Clarett fucked up his football career. Considering what he did in just 1 year of CFB as a true freshman. he could've locked up a Heisman in his 2nd year. Dude was a beast on the field. Sad how he screwed up what could've been a historic career.

Clarett started at Ohio State for one season, rushing for 1,237 yards (a school record for a freshman) and scoring 18 touchdowns, which helped the Buckeyes to a 14–0 record and the 2002 BCS National Championship. He scored the winning touchdown against the University of Miami with a five-yard run in the second overtime in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl (played January 3, 2003). He also made a key defensive play in that game, stealing the ball on the Miami 28 from Hurricanes safety Sean Taylor, who was returning an interception from the end zone of a pass thrown by Craig Krenzel. After that play, Ohio State kicked a field goal, giving them a 10-point lead at the time. Clarett was the first freshman to be the leading rusher on a national championship team since Ahman Green of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1995.

I get why Lawrence Phillips was left out, but he is right up there with every one of those guys.

Same reason Yince Young didn't win.
Voted on before the bowl games.

VY not winning wasn't that big a deal to me

the margin he lost by was tho. That vote should have been close, but that USC bias was REAL They couldn't WAIT to give that to Reggie Bush no matter what his numbers were. Putting up 500 "all purpose" yards on Fresno Fucking State pretty much won him the award, and that's pathetic. That's how you know how slanted that vote was. If your Heisman moment isn't against a quality opponent its fairly worthless.

That said, Bush certainly deserved to win......just not by a historic margin.

Some good names there for sure. Figured Manning might have won the Heisman Trophy at one point.
