it is possible to overpay in trades and win the WS. The Cueto trade is plenty defensible right now. Everything is rosy when it comes up rings, but I am not too big a fan of Dayton Moore going forward. His offseason this year is an unmitigated disaster.

Maybe, maybe not. Cueto was great in the post season. Also the Mets rolled over in the WS.

Meh. The Mets were lucky to be in the World Series. They were HIGHLY overrated. Average team from a shit division. I'm not sure they'd have made the playoffs had they been in any other division.

I'm pretty sure those two teams from '11 were the only teams in history to shit themselves that badly.

Also, Zobrist had the highest qualified OPS in the postseason save Daniel Murphy. There is literally no reasonable argument to be made for this being a bad deal.

The playoffs are a crapshoot and I wouldn't really count on the 2015 Twins. Alcides freakin' Escobar was the ALCS MVP. Yes a pattern of overpaying is problematic going into future years.
