I guess. I would think a team's fans would want to face the easiest possible competition.

The Cardinals fan that I know the best doesn't want any part of the Pirates or Cubs.
I don't want any part of the Cubs. I think we'd beat the Pirates or Dodgers about 60-70% of the time. Mets I can't get a read on but it feels like 50-50 even though it shouldn't.

As a Cardinals fan, though, Ive also noticed that every time they enter a series as the underdog they win. Almost every series they enter as the favorite they lose. So I figure if its the Cubs then who cares how they hit in the regular season?

Cubs are a super scary team. They fit the profile of the Wild Card team that can make a run and I think most people have picked up on that.

Pitching staff is best in the league at opponents AVG, opponents OBP, opponents OPS and Strikeouts and I believe 3rd in ERA. Team has the best road record in baseball, the hottest starting pitcher in baseball and a Manager thats a known commodity. They also hit the ball in the air on offense and don't get into a lot of double plays. The only real faults they have is that they aren't a stellar offensive team, they don't have a home field advantage and they are a bad defensive team. The two teams probably best suited to beat them would be the Pirates and Royals but Im not sure you can pick any team against them in 1 game.

barely audible, but it sort of sounds like it could be an REM tune?
I was thinking the same thing, but I'm not familiar enough with their music to know what it is.

If my Metsies get bounced out, then I'll be rooting for the Cubbies to go all the way....
I'm undecided on the Pirates.
Fuck the Dodgers & Cards.

In the AL...I really don't care who makes it...but I'd root for KC or Houston.
I'm a bit neutral on the Jays right now.
Fuck the Yankees & Rangers tho....

Alright MLBers- Cuz the sucky Sox didn't make it again, my new obsession is trying to find the name of the song played in this clip (tribute to Don O at Fenway). I know I've heard it before but too much distortion for Shazam and can't even really make out the words. Identify that song - starts at about 16 seconds in.

Top video (vertically shot): Watch: The Don Orsillo video tribute NESN 'refused' to air during Boston Red Sox Fenway Park finale

Safety Dance?

The song is Two Step by Dave Matthews Band.

The Cardinals are the most overrated team in the NL post season field. It's not May anymore.

The Pirates and Cubs are currently better teams, and may very well be the two best in MLB right now.

It's a shame they're both forced into a one and done scenario in this bullsh1t playoff format.

This isn't some popularity contest reality show like college football. Nobody is overrated. The Cardinals earned their position

I agree that it is a bit of a shame that the Pirates and Cubs face each other. It's also a shame that that winner will take on the Cards. The best division in the majors is going to canabalize itself before the NLCS.

I do love the new format, though. I look forward to the cries of many butt hurt fans of the losing Wild Card teams. You seem like a great candidate for that - do me a favor, if the Pirates lose tomorrow, will you come back here so I can witness your whining?

Any predictions for tonight? I have Houston taking this one 5-2.

I think the CC distraction and the fact that they have to face Keuchel is going to be tough for the Yankees to overcome.
