Not worried about JvR. He is coming back a different and much-improved player from when we had him. Dude is 29 and someone still wondering if he'll be a bust? Lol He is what he is, at this point. Scored 36 goals last season, so it's difficult to argue with that.

It's not a great bang for your buck deal at $7 million, but free agent contracts rarely are that. If he gives us 250+ shots, 35+ goals and 20+ pp points per season on average (all of which he did last season with limited ice), we will gladly hand over that kind of money to him.

We're about to be rid of all of our garbage contracts, so it's time to go for the meat and potatoes deals. This, I think, is one of them.

Besides, now we can all forget about trading JvR for Luke Schenn...Lol

With Lehtera, MacDonald, both goalies and Gudas soon on their way out, I think there's still plenty of cap room to sign Tavares to huge money and he has yet to make a decision here, which is intriguing. This shouldn't get in the way of us re-signing Provorov, Patrick or Konecny either.

It doesn't seem like we're one of the teams in on this, but you just never know as time drags on. I am shocked that Tavares has yet to sign with anyone. The longer it goes, the more I think we have a better chance.

Wow, the Isles are officially out on Tavares. They completely fucked that situation up. I can promise you that Hexy won't let even a lesser player like Simmonds go for absolutely nothing.

As for Simmonds, JvR is basically his replacement in terms of size, speed and scoring, so perhaps the Wayne Train is officially on the block now.

Adding taveras makes up for losing jvr and Bozak but it doesn't fix their D. May not be that much better due to that..
