I like O'Reilly. Is he a bonafide, number one center though? It might not matter as he was the best faceoff man in the league this past season by a mile and has also yet to really play on a good team.

He's certainly not Tavares, but at $7.5 million per for the next five seasons, he comes a lot cheaper and would easily put up career highs with guys like Giroux and Konecny on his wing. Still only 27 years old too.

For what it matters, this is also one of those guys I like to take in fantasy leagues because he is often an oversight, but still checks a lot of boxes.

Yes sir but O'Reilly be a good pick up IMO.
That would push a young Patrick back to third line center which would makes us one of the deepest teams in the league at that position. Im for any trade that makes us better for this up and coming season.

I wish we could lock up prov to a nice long extension at a cheaper rate now than a bridge deal that is being mentioned as a possibility. I really believe he will be our captain for a long time.

Depends on the price as you could sign either Stastny or Bozak without losing prospects. Leave Patrick where he is or move him to third line to take advantage of matchups. They could do a lot of things but has to make sense...

Well, you often get what you pay for. Stastny is an older, lesser version of O'Reilly and Bozak of Stastny too.

I would absolutely take Stastny on a short term deal, but he may not want to come here. He's never even played in the east.

And so, a 27 year old O'Reilly could be a nice plan B at the right price.

Farabee will be a fan favorite as soon as he make the team as he has a shoot first mentality. The forward line up will be 11 passers and 1 shooter.
Hopefully we see him sooner than later. How many years do you think he will go to school before coming to the big club?

I'm hoping for 2. He's got to add some size. Plus the Flyers will be patient with him. Anything beyond 2 years and I start to worry about signing NCAA guys. Could be an unsubstantiated worry, but I always think about guys that play out their college career and sign elsewhere.

Typically not high profile guys though I suppose. They're typically good enough to come out early.

OK boys time to go home and hit the pool. Enjoy the weekend and hope Hexy does something great this weekend!:cocktail:
Sunday at noon. Center and a wing. Maybe some depth signings on a two way contract. Not expecting to see anything more than 3 years which puts Stastny and Grabner in sight. Hopefully they want to come here.

O'Reilly is definitely better but then you factor in losing prospects. I'm also not sure about dropping Patrick down as he looked good down the stretch don't want to stunt his growth. He may be better than all of those guys soon if not already. I also wouldn't mess with Couts as he had chemistry going last season. Safe bet find a perfect third line center. Too bad Laughton wasn't a little before as you'd already have him...

I'd like Grabner series multiple needs...
