7 points back we need some help but there are a lot of games to go.
The good news is that we only have 2 more teams to jump. I doubt the Pens totally collapse. Carolina is hot, 8-2 in last 10 and Montreal has cooled down 4-5-1 in last 10. Thursday's game against the BJ's is huge. They have played better on the road. We have 1 remaining against Montreal and 2 against Carolina. We still have 3 games against Washington, 2 against Toronto and 3 against the Islanders. Tough schedule remaining.

It would be some kind of feat to make it but just watching them play now just like at the end of last season is so much more fun than early on.,

Well he showed he's not afraid to show heart on the ice. Maybe a solid third liner seemed to be responsible on bith ends, that was just 1 game though.

A lot of good notes in there. My big ones:

Frost is tearing it up. Could climb to 2.0ppg with 3 points tonight. That's crazy.

Ratcliffe defines "on fire". Two more goals last night, he's got 8 in his last 3 games. His 45G is 5th in the OHL behind 3 overagers and Kaliyev who is a potential top 10 pick this year

Zamula is on a .91ppg pace this season, Sanheim had .97ppg in his 18 year old season in the WHL. Pretty good for an undrafted free agent

Shots on net given up by us in our last 10 games:
43
36
32
40
38
38
39
27
32
39

Something needs to be fixed here as we wont be winning anything giving up this many shots night in and night out.

Thats a great nickname i hadn't seen that they gave him that name yet.

They interviewed him at the end of the game and Scott Hartnell called in and said when he was with the Preds, when they picked up Hartman, Hartnell was called Hartsy, so they called him Deuce. Now that he's with the Flyers and they calls Carter Hart Hartsy, he was going to have to settle for being Deuce again. Hartman said he didn't mind, he liked the nickname, he was just happy to be playing in Philly.

So Hartnell named him Deuce.

Definitely agree. From the advanced stats, I think they were OK last night. The Sabres accumulated 1.88 Expected Goals (xG) last night, which basically rates the strength of each shot by location/type of shot etc. Basically saying that while they gave up a lot of shots last night, they weren't high danger shots.

Not really applicable beyond last night though, because this winning brand of hockey recently has mostly been Hart standing on his head and getting some timely goals.

I'll be interested to see what Gordon decides to do about the D. He mentioned in his post game that 11F/7D is not really a long term solution/plan.

TOI Last night for D:
Provorov - 22:48
Sanheim - 21:13
Gudas - 18:07
Hagg - 15:50
Myers - 15:24
MacDonald - 8:55 (team-wide low)

That would greatly indicate AMac would be the #7. What a treat it would be to watch a Provorov, Sanheim, Gudas, Hagg, Myers group on D.

Since breaking an 8 game losing streak on 1/10, the Flyers are 16-4-1, earning 78.5% of the available points.

I didn't look at advanced stats i just know we as a team will get very tired down the stretch giving up that many shots not conducive to our playoff hopes and it may have contributed to Hart being hurt this early on in his career.

I think if we are going to play AMac that little it would benefit Morin to be in the line up instead.
