I dislike Lebron just as much as the next person. But in no way is Lebron #6 on the all-time list.
If he were to retire at this present moment, I'd put him at #4. But my eyes tell me he's #2. At the end, I think that's where he ends up.
People keep throwing out Lebron's gaudy stats - but the offense he plays in is designed around him, it's asked for him. Of course he's a better facilitator and rebounder than Jordan. But the latter's the better scorer and a far better defender - which you can't truly measure.
Players need to be ranked after their careers.
If Lebron gets swept in the next round and never makes the playoffs again (very unlikely but it's a hypothetical situation) despite playing for another 4 or 5 years, do you think he'll be remembered in the same way as he does right now?
The opposite could also happen. A lot of people have him as 4th or 3rd. What if he makes the finals again this year, and then moves to a team like Philly or LA and wins a threepeat. He'd probably go as a clear number #1 then.
