It's a lot more interesting out East than it is out West right now... can't wait for the conference finals.

Jeff O'Neill's not a big Torts fan...

Jeff ONeill ‏ @odognine2
Someone from the media should cup a fart and toss at Torterella's beak. What a dickface.

I actually like Torts. At least he tells it like it is & doesn't take any crap from reporters.

It's the team he coaches that I can't stand. GO CAPS!!

Just watched the game on the DVR.... wooohoooo!!

Good win, Caps. We got damn lucky in the 3rd period with calls, but we've been on the other side of that coin, so who gives a fuck! Wooohoooo!! Loved the way the guys came out tonight. Anyone who thought the Caps would lay down after the 3OT loss hasn't been watching this team, nor the box scores of how the minutes were distributed in the last game.

Loved it when Backstrom put Anisimov on his ass. Related note, I like this series so much more than the other series. New York plays tough (been big hits from both sides) but without all the bullshit/cheap stuff/after the whistle/diving/etc. we saw from Boston.

Props to the Rangers and Caps. Playing some hard-hitting, entertaining hockey. And Holtby and Lundqvist have been phenomenal.

LET'S GO CAPS!!

Shanaban worthy?

I wish I remember the hit from the last round that looked just like this one. It was the same in that the primary contact was shoulder to shoulder and I can't tell if the head was even contacted or not.

I agree with Boss, I think at most OV will get fined $2500...

Milbury and Keith Jones were talking about it and Jones corrected Milbury and said since OV is a repeat offender, that a fine is not an option. I'm not sure of the rules and the CBA and all that stuff on this.... but I'm gonna take Jones over Milbury any day.

Milbury of course said that Ovechkin does this "all the time." God he's an asshole.

I am not sure that there is any set "rule" on these calls. I was under the impression that each situation is handled separately. It may come into play with Shannys decision but I don't think there is a "rule" on what punishment he can deal out. Maybe I'm wrong but.....

There's one golden rule the NHL lives by when handing out punishment. If it's a STAR player they get a fine.

not true. there is no requirement to escalate discipline. you take history into account, but there's nothing to say you have to go from fine to suspension the next time.

Rags got pretty fucked in the 3rd by the zebras.
