Rags won the 3rd... obviously...

lets go Devils... break that Kovy-Zids combo... i could run faster than those two without sketchers.

If the refs call actual penalties (closing the hand on the puck much?) instead of calling something because it sounded worse than it (boarding my ass) and also stop ignoring icing calls....we have a chance.

Just like the Philly series we lose game 1. The Devils looked like they hadn't played in almost a week. Pucks were hopping over sticks all game, some missed assignments (espeically on the first Rags goal), stupid little things that show they haven't been playing at game speed.

I thought we were very predictable on offense but for the most part I think we had the majority of quality chances. McDonough was unreal. The camera guy was terrible, constantly behind or losing track of the puck. And I've noticed this before, maybe it's just me, but the boards at MSG create some really bizarre bounces.

I was much more worried dropping gm 1 in the philly series than I am now.

We'll rebound. It's a rude awakening.

However, if we fall 0-2... then i'll starting crying.

I pretty much expected to lose this game. Rangers and their fans riding the momentum of a game 7 victory, Devils coming in after a decently long layoff. I knew it would be a which team got the lucky bounce kind of game and it went to the Rags. I expect a more diverse attack by the Devils in game 2.

The Devils have to get the puck on net. Far too many of their shots got blocked last night.

I think the rangers have finally found a defensive system more boring than the trap.Hate to say it but I agree with some of the other devils posters aim high.

Apparently Del Zotto closed his hand on a puck just before the Rags 2nd goal?

indeed he did

As per Fraser it wasn't because it seems Del Zotto didn't pick up the puck but rather slid the puck along the ice. I haven't been able to review any replays to see if indeed he picked up the puck. We all know though Fraser has missed calls when he was a ref especially a key one in in game 6 of the conference finals in 1993 where Gretzky highsticks Gilmour.

Rule 67—handling the puck (closing his hand on the puck).
A player cannot close his hand on the puck, Stephen is correct that this pertains to catching the puck in the air or picking the puck up off the ice. A player is allowed to cover the puck on the ice with his hand as Del Zotto did and slide it along the ice in a hand pass motion. This is legal so long as he does not cause a stoppage of play through extended coverage, prevents an opponent from playing it or picks it up off the ice and throws it.

Fraser: Dealing with hand passes and delay of game penalties

Here is Fraser's blunder for those of you that didn't see or know about it. It is about 18 seconds in.

it deeply saddens me that a couple of my fellow fans thinks the NHL should do something about the amount of shots the Rangers block :L
