While Doc isn't a great coach....I also don't think he is a bad coach either.

And as far as James and AD....he is a coach I think they would respect. And I don't think the trio respected Vogel very much....not that I think he was the main issue or deserved to be fired.

And respecting the coach is something that has to be considered when hiring one.

I think that is an issue with the Nets and the Lakers this past season.

Looking back....the Lakers should have hired Lue when they had the chance....not that he is a great coach either but he is better than Vogel (who needs to coach a young team where he can teach) or anybody else they can get right now.

Honestly......

If you run it back with the old heads, Doc is a fitting coach.

He doesn't play young guys.....unless he has no other option.

Plus, for all his warts, he's not a bitch.

He wouldn't let the Rambi dictate who he plays and how much.

A guy like Terry Stots would get trampled by Klutch and meddlesome management.

I hate when people hyper focus on 1 liners from a 26 minute presser.

He was not ragging on Harden. He complimented Butler and said multiple times that he wasn’t the GM in Philly when asked what roster moves he wanted the team to make. His way of dodging that question was:

“I am not the GM, they could trade me or anyone else”.

He was not asking to be traded. But I do think he was lobbying for a PJ Tucker type player that really every good team should have.
