2) If Ben plays next year and let's say Brooklyn makes the finals while Philly lose in round 2 again, how can you possibly say Philly won the trade?

1. It's a failure. But, because they lost their best player, they will get a pass from some.

2. Yes, that would clearly change the narrative. But, that's a bunch of " If's ".

Ben being the catalyst for a Brooklyn resurgence is possible. But, not probable.

Brooklyn could ascend simply by getting a full season of health and chemistry between Harris, Kyrie, Seth and Durant.

Brooklyn going deep and Philly winning the trade are not mutually exclusive.

The 2004 Pistons won the NBA Finals.

I haven't seen a single soul say they got a better draft grade for taking Darko over the Denver Nuggets, who took Melo, just because they won it all.

The Nets could win the title and still lose the trade.

Not just the series, the Chip.

But, so will Miami's...

So will the Suns...

So will every remaining team, except Memphis.

They are young and weren't expected to be here before the Season.

It's a nice feather in a team's cap to make it to the Finals, especially for teams that have never been there.

But, it just makes you the Final failure/ last loser.
