Funny thing about the Bulls is the guy who Hoiberg was shitting on and gave him several DNP-CD earlier in the year turned out to be their most important player.

This also tells me as good as Butler is, he needs to have a good PG on his squad to be successful

True. But I also wonder how much the death of IT's sister affected them in those first 2 games. Guess we'll have to see how they do in Round 2 to get an idea.

If Rondo doesn't get hurt, the comeback probably doesn't happen, but once it started, I don't think him coming back would've changed it. If that makes sense.

I disagree to an extent. Let's say if Rondo injury wasn't serious at all and he returned in game 4. I still think the Bulls win the series....now if he waited til game 5 or 6 to come back then I agree with your take

I am not entirely convinced Chicago wins the series if Rondo never got hurt at all.

The Celtics dug themselves a major hole, but I believe they would have taken at least 1 in Chicago. They were not getting swept. If the series gets back to Boston, they are fully capable of gaining momentum and winning 3 straight.

Games 1 and 2 were as much about IT and the teams' response as they were about the Bulls. Once the Celtics cleaned up the defensive rebounding piece, they were clearly the better team. I think that would have shown with or without Rondo playing.

I agree with you that the Celtics would have won 1 in Chicago with Rondo. Actually after the Bulls won game 2 and before we knew about the Rondo injury, I said the Bulls would win in 6. No way were Boston getting swept. I just think it would have been very hard to win 2 games in Chicago with Rondo available.
