Bulls are not stupid. No way they would have traded Butler unless it was for a few really good young prospects.

He's one of the few guys in the league that can get you 20 and defend Lebron well

I think they literally took a step back :laugh3: but that's just my opinion
How so?

They got the #1 Seed.

That's a step forward.

Be honest...

Did you have them as the overwhelming favorite to win?

This is not your typical 1 vs. 8 seed.

The Bulls are not as bad as their record and the Celtics aren't nearly as good.

Nobody, outside that locker room, believed they were contenders.

If the Celtics still had Jared Sullinger & Evan Turner they'd have a 2-0 lead right now. Ainge fucked up.

You realize the Celtics were not expected to win this year right? Realistic expectations for the C's this year was top 4 seed and make the 2nd round. This is a great draft and they're almost a lock to have a top 3 pick and very possibly the #1 pick. I would give up future 1st round picks but not this one. No way in hell.

George and Butler are good but I'm not even sure if they're top 10 players to be honest.

Would they even need to trade the 2017 pick to get George or Butler? They've got so many assets.

Jaylen Brown, Brooklyn's 2018 pick, and Memphis's 2019 pick could be a decent start to trade negotiations. You're looking at a former 3rd overall pick, a probable top 5 pick in 2018, and a possible lottery pick in 2019 (although it's protected for picks 1-8). Maybe Boston throws in a young guard to sweeten the pot. Who can offer more than that for George or Butler? Maybe a few teams . . . but how many of them are ready to compete and would be willing to pull the trigger?

but Mecca- ive had to listen to so many squak about the importance of the regular season and good habits and not being able to flip a switch etc. etc. etc. blah blah blah

as always- what wins in the playoffs is TALENT. anyone who knows basketball knows that.

the team with the best player USUALLY wins.

This post is such bullshit.

As Mecca stated this is not your typical 1/8 matchup and on top of that the Bulls been playing their best basketball of the season for the last two weeks or so.

I been saying all year long that Boston was not made for the playoffs. This doesn't surprise anyone

Well you guys are wrong

Do a quick search on "celtics 1 seed"

and you'll see just last month @WiggyRuss asked the quesiton "If Boston gets the one seed, do you think they beat the Cavs in the East?"

and some of your answers, are completely the opposite of what you're all saying now.

And only one person in the playoff prediction thread picked the Bulls to win.

I searched and all I came up with were people saying they'd still expect Cleveland to win but that home court for Boston maybe makes it a 6-game series. You seeing something else?

Not from me.

I, and others, have stated, AD NASEUM, that nobody in the East can beat the Cavs.

They could be the 5th seed and they still make the finals.
