You have to beat the best to be the best.
Not even top 50.
Urban, Horse Patooties.
Only one team has gone undefeated and untied, and had to beat the final ranked #2, #3, and #4 teams to do it. That team also handed the #2 team and the #4 teams their only losses of the season. That would be 1971 Nebraska. Nebraska outscored undefeated Alabama 38-6 in the bowl game. It was 28-0 at halftime. No one could stop NT Rich Glover in college, he was just too quick.
Great team the problem is in today's game last years Mississippi State's team probably beats the 71 Nebraska team just from an athlete standpoint. When talking best teams you almost have to pick them by era or decade because it's almost impossible to compare them.
Check me if I am wrong Sandy but if the greatest team ever lost a game, doesn't it stand to reason that team was in fact not the greatest of all time.
by that reasoning 2006 Ohio State was the greatest of all time
Of course every logical CFB fan knows 2002 Ohio State is the undisputed Greatest of all Time
No need for debate fellas just accept it like you accept that third slice of cornbread at dinner
