What’s sad is this team now, with injured pitchers coming back and young ones emerging and guys like Soler and Chapman and Yaz hitting, is actually pretty good for real. If we had this team all year we’d be in the hunt. We’ve gotten better but too late.

It's more about the Vibe that Duffy brought taking extra bases making smart plays playing good defense and he had some pop but more non-homer extra bases with runners on base.

He started well, granted. But in the last month, Hicks' ERA is over 9.00, a run an inning. That's also what he has given up today, two runs in two innings. He's hit a wall as a pitcher, not just as a starter. What to do about it, I have no idea. But putting him in a close game that the Giants should win easily doesn't seem like a sound strategy.

Less than a week ago we were getting our asses handed to us. This is just a peak on the wave function of the season.
