I'll answer this -
No, but every time I drive next to someone glued to their phone I give them a honk. The dumb asses don't know if they did something wrong while driving or not and it quite literally scares the crap out of them so give it a try as it is entertaining as hell. The saddest thing is the wife and I saw semi-trucks swerving all over the interstate roads because the drivers were texting - and this has been all over the country. The big rigs can kill folks in a heartbeat and those drivers need to pay attention to the roads as much as the kids driving in the cities.

When I was in my early 20's my girlfriend at the time bartended at a local bar that was owned by the parents a cop family so naturally it was a big cop hangout. The bar was tucked back in a shopping plaza with a dark parking lot and not easy to see from the main street. Whenever I could I would go there close to closing time to help her clean and more importantly walk her to her car since she was the only one there at closing time.

Well, more often than not, cops were the last ones in the bar, shit faced and would often stay well passed closing time and even continue to buy beer well passed closing time. It would piss me off as I sat there and watched them get shit faced and then proceed to get in their cars and drive home. Bunch of hypocrites

If it were me:

Suspend him without pay until the spring. Give him milestones to hit by that time, if he hasnt then he's fired. Gives him time to get his shit together (if thats what he wants), its a fairly sizable punishment, sends a message to everyone (players and coaches) that there are consequences to your actions and in terms of football, you are able to retain a valuable asset. Some may see that as lenient, you may be right.

Might as well fire him if that's what you propose. At that point the recruiting class is screwed, we're behind on recruiting for next year, and if he doesn't make the checkpoints you are looking for a position coach during spring practice.

Yep. I'd be fine with the nonconference schedule. Like @Brasky said, if we want to act like we are holier than thou, we should get used to not winning championships. If anyone here thinks that TO would have fired KW for this, you're whitewashing our past. If we fire KW, he will land in a support role at Bama, Ole Miss, Michigan, etc. for a year or two and end up their WR coach. They don't give a crap how many DUIs he has.

Just got into a heated debate with my wife over this. She thinks he should be fired. I told her she was wrong. She asked if I would feel the same way of it were a coach from Alabama. I told her if it were a coach from Alabama we probably wouldn't have heard a word about it.
Then she asked if I would feel the same way if it were the special teams coach. I told her no. About sent her into orbit on that one. She thinks everyone should be treated equally. I said "you can't have equality of everyone is not equal."

eh, i'm not for firing, a lot of people saying suspended for the whole year, even that seems harsh to me. the guy made a mistake, why take away the one thing he really loves, coaching football. he'd get way more help by keeping him involved with the team and getting him on some sort of program.

I am sure there are programs for this for faculty and sech. Many employers have programs that let you keep your job if you come forward first but this is not what happened. Give him a week off for the bad publicity like they did with Pelinose - oh wait nevermind.
