Why the hell not. He's not interested in playing here anymore and there's no need to keep him another year and hope he gets a big contract somewhere else in 2021 as a FA and then wait another year to get a 4th round comp pick in 2022. I see no possibility in receiving anything more than that in a comp pick. Trade his ass now (after new league year) when there is a chance to get some kind of decent value for him.

ask Swarm what he honestly thinks and believes regarding Slay.
Hungry Howies is constantly searching for a longterm spokesman.

Man, I took Lamar Jackson and Darius Leonard the year before for Baltimore and didn't even get a single damn vote.

As it should be, your draft was bad and you should feel bad.

I went back and looked at my drafts for the Lions.....I did not do well.

Did ok for the Giants this year though
It's actually been proven to be impossible to have a good draft for the Lions.

I remember being a fan of your haul for New York.

Josh Allen
Jonah Williams
Daniel Jones in the second.

After that it is not so great, but Keesean Johnson appears to be a decent late round get

Only really been watching offensive guys so far, but i love the Bama guys this year Jeudy is going to be a stud, Ruggs has phenomenal hands, and i really like Najee excellent balance and always turning his legs forward.

He doesn’t deserve a new deal. If he pushes for one again, trade him. Just don’t give him away like Diggs.

Completely agree

I see no reason to keep him at this point when the entire defensive unit is a question mark whether it's HC, DC, current personnel, scheme etc. If they cannot receive at least a 2nd round pick in return then I'd let his contract play out as is.

This team has so damn many needs defensively to turn it around that by keeping Slay for 1 more year is ludricrous. Why the hell have a 13M+ cap hit in 2020 for keeping Slay when that secondary unit has turned into third/fourth worse in all of the NFL.

There's too much talent available in this draft from the defensive front and secondary that I wouldn't pass on the opportunity if given that.

Actually we have more talent in the secondary then the rest of the defense. The front 7 is the problem. No secondary is going to cover for much more then a few seconds. Teams have all day for receivers to get open. The LBs stink other then Kennard. Jones and Tavai are average and cant cover a RB. Davis cant cover anyone either and cant seem to sack the QB. Our DL has under performed greatly on pass rush. Granted Hand and Bryant were not around all year and Daniels was out half the time. Still, Snacks has not been good and Flowers has under performed slightly too. Okwara has also been out and nowhere near what he was last year.

unproven talent outside of Slay, Walker and Wilson (he's even questionable at times).

Oruwariye, Ford, Virgin and Agnew aren't even replacement value players yet.

Uh, Coleman has been great and Melvin was a steal.

The P.O.S. HC is the problem for not devising a scheme sending players to put pressure on those qb's.

The DC calls the plays. He can blitz if he wants to. DC will most likely be removed next year.

What Lions games have you been watching over the last 5 weeks ?

Coleman and Melvin both have struggled greatly due to that high percentage of non-existent pass rush.
