Mike Scott was 1-8 in game 1.

Tonight in double digits on 5 shots but yeah game 1 was all Jimmy's fault lol.

Pretty simple what's happening tonight. They're making shots and in Simmons case he is more aggressive.

As I said yesterday, this isn't a Jimmy Butler issue and never was.

It is a make or miss league. Tonight they're making these shots and Simmons is more aggressive
the balls moving, everyones involved, the team isnt playing like they hate each other and checking their cell phones on the bench and standing around watching Jimmy try and play hero ball when he is no hero.

just a guy about to be on his 4th team in 5 years in a few months

LOL he has 5 assists and up till a minute ago he was 5th on the team in shots isntead of being #1 shots and having 0 assists

its common sense

nets would love it if jimmy butler heaves 22 shots a game and doesnt pass teh ball

How do you explain Sixers being outscored by 16 in a short time span with Jimmy on the bench late 1st/early 2nd of game 1? You're going to blame him for that also?

He wasn't playing hero ball. He was trying to keep them in the game because the rest of the team played poorly in game 1.

When the starting 5 is playing how they should then this is how he has typically played since coming to Philly.

Once again try watching more basketball.

If he was such a selfish player as you make him seem, he would avg much more than 13 shots per game since coming to Philly

brooklyn shot around 50% in the first half from 3, it's down to 35% for the game, there's your difference.

jimmy butler leads the team in scoring = sound defeat

jimmy butler 7th on the team in scoring = sound victory

one of the fakest star players in the game.

he will be on his 4th team in 5 years before the summer is over.

How many great players have that on their resume?

That was fucking ridicuous. I had to look up the record for most points given up by an NBA team in a quarter in history and it's pretty close, lol.

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-highest-scoring-quarter-in-an-NBA-game

Disappointing to say the least.

2 positives out of the 1st 2 games though.

1) They did what they likely wanted to do. Win a game in Philly

2) Losing a game like this force you to make lots of adjustments. If they ended up losing a tight game then they probably make very few adjustments. This forces them to really look at what the hell went wrong.

Game 3 will be interesting.

Game 3 will be must see TV. Sixers struggled both games in Brooklyn, and I'm pretty sure that NY crowd is gonna be crazy. I can imagine the chants they will have for the Sixers....

Sixers would rather have Jimmy Butler go for 50 then have a night where multiple guys get off and the ball moves and the Sixers pass the ball and play like a team instead of watch jimmy butler heave 22 shots and have 0 assists.

its just common sense basketball.

You may have the causation arrow reversed here. In game 1 it felt like Butler saw that the team game for whatever reason wasn't working, so he then tried to take over Kobe style. Sometimes teams have to do that. Curry, KD, Kyrie, etc.

So if things are working then Butler stays in the team concept. But he's the best option to take over like that, Embiid can't, Simmons definitely can't.

I know Eli doesn't always bring it, but it was also a blumhouse, which I also know doesn't always bring it, but I hoped for more. I have HBO until the thrones is over, figured, i'd scroll through what i haven't seen.

Cabin Fever cemented him as a Horror icon.....having said that.....he needs to bring it more consistently.

Ben Simmons no doubt has to grow some balls, but its just a simple fact that its a 1000x harder for him to control the offense when Butler is jacking up shots and going 1-5.

I mean- its not just Simmons this game- Butler seems to have gotten that too- he has gone from 0 assists to 7 assists. OTher guys are in their spots. The Nets have to guard everyone and not just 1 1/2 guys (when Embiid was rested enough to play in the post). Sixers will not win anything with Jimmy Butler jacking 22 shots. Him taking over the offense is the worst thing that can happen because itll never work. Simmons needs the ball and needs to work through it, instead of having jimmy just take over and dominate the ball when its not working. No one else is going to get shots and be comfortable watching Butler play iso basketball. Everyone needs to be involved and everyone needs to be moving nad getting the ball in the right spots

ive watched that type of basketball more times than i can count, and LeBron was GOOD enough to sometimes make it work. Sometimes he wasnt--- but what LeBron knows is that you need to get your teammates involved and if they are struggling early you cant just abandon them because its pretty much impossible to win a game 1-5 even if you are LeBron- and IT IS impossible when youa re Jimmy Butler.

Butler is not a guy I would ever pay that money too. I doubt hte Sixers pay him. He will be on his 4th team in5 years before the summer is out. Tell me the list of great players that moved around as much as him

the Bulls didnt want to commit to him
the Twolves had no intention of giving him a max
I doubt the Sixers will.

Some poor sad sack team that strikes out on Durant and Klay and Kawhi and Kyrie and Kemba will default into him and itll be a huge mistake.

JArret Allen isnt a real center? dudes 20 years old

this team is ahead of its time line if you ask me.

last thing they need to do is pay big money for a center when they have a 20 year old that will develop into a perfectly sufficient center for todays NBA.

One of the golden rules about todays NBA is you dont pay guys that cant shoot. (for the most part)
