You know what’s funny, if the NFL never got involved and being influenced by Trump, they wouldn’t have to pay Kaep.

Trump caused the NFL 60-80 mill :thumb:

That's actually a good point. But I doubt Trump would want that money going to Kaepernick. But maybe he hates the NFL so much that he doesn't care as long as they lose money.

So, on a related note to this whole ordeal, is anyone else considering the ramifications this will have on potential future claims like this against the NFL? Say what you want about the Kaepernick ordeal, but the fact that he got paid ANYTHING directly by the league as a settlement in all this sets a very dangerous precedent. Because if Kaepernick had enough grounds to squeeze a settlement out of them for being "black balled", then there's quite a few other guys I can think of who could make similar claims as well, albeit for varying reasons. He wouldn't be the first guy to wash out of the league because teams didn't think his talent level warranted the baggage that would come along with him, and certainly won't be the last.

My guess is to get him and all of the attention around the case to go away for good.

Win the case and you look right... drop 60,000,000 in his pocket and you look guilty IMO

Vernon and Gore are the only guy's that were really good from that list lol. You act like Kaep had a Brown, Hopkins, Jones, or OBJ to throw to lmao.

Heres a reporter saying it wasn't the money. I'll just believe Pete.

You're refusing to accept the numbers he's put up through all his football stupidity. You can be football ret*** all you want, but if you produce at a mid tier QB level, then you're a mid tier QB.
Are you high? Boldin is a borderline hall of famer. Santana Moss was a beast.

I find it funny how some continue to claim Keap got 60 to 80M when nobody outside the two parties know.
We won't know as the agreement has a confidentiality clause banning either side from giving out the number.

Let me add the agreement wasn't just with Kaep, Reid got some too.

Yep.

NEW YORK - Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid have settled collusion cases against the NFL.

Now we don't know who got what or what portion of the settlement each got.

We don't know because neither side can say.

You do know that was the season Harbaugh was busy securing his spot at Michigan and fighting with their FO, right? Lol. It wasn't a great year, but it also wasn't terrible. Look at Dalton and Cams numbers that season. You could argue Kaep was better than both when you factor in the rushing
Kaepernick absolutely sucked. I'll never forget that game in Arizona. Disgraceful.

With Reid signing his new contract and and the players association contradicting his false drug testing claims i wouldn't be surprised if it was the Kap/Reid side that decided to end this. Plus with the AAF's CEO saying Kap was still asking for the ridiculous 20 million a year to sign with the AAF thats another strike against his credibility. If Kaep got the big settlement some are claiming why isn't he donating some of it towards his cause or starting a foundation (Fidel Castro death squad fund maybe)?
