I think whoever wins Game 4 will win the series. Right now the Caps seem to have the momentum though.

So the question is, do the Caps avoid taking the dreaded 3-1 series lead?

Well - we will see. However I think that this is a year like no other across the board so you can throw out old trends. I really like how the Caps have been all business throughout the playoffs. They are not getting caught up too much emotionally whether they win or lose - they just focus on the upcoming game.

Should be fun - Go Caps!

This would never happen in the NBA where most players think that they are above everyone else.

Big deal - so perhaps a player drives a nice car parked in a private lot - no issue w/ that. My pt is that NHL players appear to be more approachable than in other pro sports. Maybe this is incorrect or perhaps this is true since the sport is not as popular or the players make a lot less than in other sports. Oh well - I thought that the story was pretty neat. If you don't agree - oh well - who cares.

Also, that isn't his car. He just gets to drive it.

NHL players are way better guys than NBA players. Think Alan Iverson would have stopped to help on the one of the worst nights of his career?

What would you do if you were a member of a team that just lost an excruciating Game 7 in the playoffs? Going home to a dark room and brood quietly listening to emo music might be something, say, Mike Green would do. But what if you were a fine Canadian boy named Brooks Laich? The answer is pretty simple then, you’d take time out of your ride home to help out someone in need.

After his team’s wheels came off in the NHL playoffs, Washington Capitals forward Brooks Laich helped a stranded motorist by changing her car’s flat tire.

Driving following Washington’s 2-1 home loss to the Montreal Canadiens in Game 7 of their first-round series, Laich pulled over when he saw the stopped car and got out to lend a hand, The Washington Post’s website reported on Thursday.

This would normally be the time to come out and say that hockey players are a different breed and that you can’t picture anyone from any other major sport doing something like this, except we did see this same sort of thing back in November from Yankees manager Joe Girardi after winning the World Series.

Brooks Laich was already a pretty well loved player in now hockey forlorn Washington, D.C. but this just helps vaults his folk hero status into outer space. Not everyone has their own t-shirt these days, you know.

Friendly fire...DSP did return to practice later, so it appears he is okay.

The puck came off the stick of Andre Burakovsky who Smith-Pelly seemed to hint may need to work on accuracy of his slap shot.

"[Burakovsky] was trying to take a slap shot," Smith-Pelly said. "It kind of rolled. I don’t know how close I was to the net. I don’t think I was that close, but whatever."

Smith-Pelly also made clear that more than an apology will be required of the young winger to make amends.

"At least a dinner," he said. "The minimum a dinner, at least.”

I don't know, I met Brad Bombadir at a Fuddruckers when I was with my mom and he was really mean. Not only did he tell me to go fuck myself when I said I enjoyed watching him play - on his way out he also recited a haiku he had just written about me. It was hurtful and bad, the last line had 6 syllables.

I met Danny Ainge once and right after saying hello we robbed a liquor store together.

Doc is getting cringey as fuck. Canada is pushing their old white guy's out of the booth, American broadcasting needs to do the same. Bring Biz in or some shit.

Man, fuck Kempny. dude was playing grabass with his back towards the play on that ringer. I haven't disliked a defenseman this much since Joel Kwiatkowski or Jason Doig.
