That isnt a contradiction. QB is extremely important. Thats why 3 went in the top 12. DE is important, thats why a lot were taken in the 1st round. CB is important. Thats why 20 were drafted tonight. Just because DE went #1 that doesnt mean they are more important than QB. Your horrific attempt at trying to discredit my point is awful... simply awful.

No. You are an abysmal arguement builder. Yes a lot of DE's went in the draft. That doesnt make it more important than QB. It means there were more quality DEs in this draft than QB. It was a horrible year for QB and teams were still fighting to get them. But the fact that the nations best Center didnt go until the 3rd round proves something. It proves that Center isnt a valued position.

How did the fact that 3 scrub QBs going in the top 12 dispute my logic. ONE LONE CENTER IN THE 3rd ROUND TELLS YOU SOMETHING. The fact that 20 DBs went in the first 3 rounds doesnt mean that DB is more important than QB.

There is a difference between between 25% of the first 12 picks were QB and 1 out of 107 players drafted being Center. The fact that more DE's were picked than QB's has absolutely NOTHING to do with 107 guys being drafted and one Center in the 3rd round.

I never said there had to be more QBs drafted than DE to making DE more important. There were lots of QB taken cause they are important. There were lots of DE taken because they were important. There were lots of DB taken because they were important.

But less than 0.9 percent of players drafted were Centers. Thats incredibly a tiny tiny tiny percentage. Almost zero percent of the first 107 guys drafted were Centers.

Never did i even slightly insinuate that if 11 QBs were drafted and 12 DEs were drafted that means DE is more important.

If ever player in the NFL was dropped from there teams and redrafted Rodgers might go 1st. Watt, Julio Jones, Aaron Donald would all go in the top 10. The best Center in the NFL right now wouldnt go in the top 100. Want to know why? Because they are way down the list of importance.

Draft importance in the 1st round has little to do with position importance on the football field. it is apples to oranges.

Just an FYI 2 centers were drafted Seahawks and Vikings and the Guard LAC drafted Forrest Lamp probably ends up playing center(at least part time)

How many players and where they get drafted isn't the guide for how important a position is, it has more to do with finding a true starter at said positions. Finding top NFL QBs, DEs, and OTs is harder than finding Cs and Gs. If only one punter out of 20 succeded in the NFL you'd see more punters go in early rounds.
Tge draft is a crap shoot and teams are playing the odds.
