..... and the beat goes on .... second verse, same as the 1st

But I guess that is what forums are for.

so what do you think of Cousins and his contract situation?
what do you think of Mixon?
what do you think of Bruce Allen?
is Cousins a top 10 QB?
where do you fall on McCaffrey?
how do you feel about Dan Snyder?
which round do you think we should draft a NT?
should we draft a RB @ #17 or a 3rd round grade DL with the 1st pick?

:D

That is your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it. But many of us do not agree and again it has zero to do with his play at guard.
.

He is also correct so arguing that point is mute. Starter, Pro Bowl, he is the guard everyone thought we needed. You might like to have had a different player but picking him has not been a mistake. It just wasn't your choice which is also what Dean has said 9375937495737539397536893772969476396346939639563947539573959395395395395935395349539593953945345375397537573753757375378 times. I might not be the sharpest person in the room but a) I got his point a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg time ago and b) Scherff has not been a mistake. :trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash:

If you have new material I'm all ears. We could discuss what an underwhelming hire Manusky was. Again. :)

By the way you continue to miss the point of our position on your last post, not sure how this is possible but I really want to move on.

I don't think I missed any points and have stayed out of this for the most part since I commented two years ago. I thought some comic relief would be fun. Y'all can resume your normal arguments and taking up for you BFF. :pound:

Y'all have fun now ... hear! :thumb: Personally I am hoping in 8 years we can pick a winner to this argument.

I will take a great G (at this moment Scherff fits) over a decent to good DT (Williams at this moment) with the number 5 pick.

scotts on his 4th team something is wrong

You'd have to think so. Someone that is very successful doesn't get let get let go so often. I admit to knowing nothing about him when we signed him. I was excited when I read his history in acquiring players but was nervous about his off the field history. At the time I remember thinking, this is the kind of guys we sign. Whatever happened it doesn't matter now. Like it or not the Skins go forward without him.

Hopefully the employees and scouts learned something from Scotty and will use that in the future and abandon whatever the heck they used to do. Then Bruce can get all the credit again, but behind closed doors -- it will be SM blueprint

You claimed Dean has called Scherff a bust. I never saw that and he denies ever saying it. That's why I asked you to provide evidence which you are unwilling or unable to provide. So there's that

Dean's position has always been identical to mine. It was never a knock on Brendan Scherff, he has been a terrific player as was predicted. It had everything to do with passing on Willaims to fill a need that should not require the 5th overall pick. He is a damned good hot dog that cost $15 and also cost a good and possibly dominant player at another position of need.
That's fine if that is what you want to take as your position as regard the others responding to dean, but you need to fair across the board. Please find the post where I said Dean, specifically, called Schreff a bust. You won't. What I said was the there are people on this board who ACT like Schreff has been a bust. Never applied a name and never quoted anyone specifically. You are the one that applied Dean's name to my observation. So if you are going to be Dean's knight and defend his honor, at least know what you are defending.

I must have missed Dean's posts that claimed Scherff was a bust. Or anyone elses for that matter.

You must have. Just like you missed mine stating that Scherff was the right pick?

Exactly. You missed it. Look at post 38 where this all started. I never actually posted what you claim.

You: " Some on here have made it sound like he has been a bust"

Me: "I must have missed Dean's posts that claimed Scherff was a bust"

You: "You must have".

In what world does this exchange not mean you claimed Dean called him a bust?

Where did I ever apply Dean's name to it? Never happened. Now, of course I was referring to Dean, acting like he has been a bust, but never said he called him a bust. And he HAS been acting like it with in incessant whining about the pick. My point is you are willing to overlook the others on here calling dean out and seem to single me out as the only one.......must be something else eating at you?

Jesus man you still don't get it? I am calling you out because while others complained about Dean's habit of defending his position you were the only one to clearly imply Dean called him a bust. When I mentioned Scherff specifically you replied that I must have missed his posts calling him a bust. You don't see that as claiming Dean called him a bust? Really? That is just too weird to me, of course you claimed he called the player a bust and you were the only one to make that claim. That is why I am "singling you out". Your argument is different than theirs.

And again for the last time (hopefully) the argument has never been about how good or bad Scherff has played. It is about passing on players at positions that are much more difficult to fill to take a guard.

I have no idea how many more times we need to state this because people still don't get it and that is very frustrating.

I actually disagree that te position is much more difficult to fill. Simply put, for the last 3-4 drafts we constantly hear how the draft is DEEP in defensive line talent. So deep in fact that alot of teams actually went offense or skill position early in last years draft and D-line was not all the rage until late in the draft. I think the D-line has been difficult for the redskins to fix, because we have not really invested in in, much as our O-line until recently has been a hot mess for the same reason. They made a conscious decision to address the o-line in 2015, and as such took the best O-lineman in the draft. Now he ended up playing guard at a very high level for us. So we passed on a D-lineman. But if guard were so easy to fill, there would have been no need to take Scherff. And lets be real, had we NOT taken him, NY likely would have 4 slots later, which is also why a trade down wasnt going to be possible.

So again people can continue to dry bitch about how Scherff is a good player, but we made a mistake in not taking Williams. But the bottom line is, we know we got a good player for OUR team, so I and a few others wont be pining for guys that are on another teams roster.

Wrong. I am saying SM valued OG over pass rushing DE and all around DL talent. I disagree with that like many other poster do. Its been proven from various drafts that pass rushers and dl talent trump the OG position. ITs funny how you guys have no answer to this argument.

Wait wait wait. But you want a RB at 17??
