I hope he does get drafted round 1...
Cause his QB coach (Spav) is back at WVU now and can sell recruits on producing another NFL QB..

Because you're basically gambling that you're smarter than every other team. But if there are 3 comprable choices simply by waiting a few rounds (same goes for all positions), why the hell would you jump the gun, or not just trade down?
Where's Kirk Cousins?
- Tom Brady - 6th round
- Drew Brees - 2nd round
- Eli Manning - 1st round
- Philip Rivers - 1st round
- Ben Rothlisberger - 1st round
- Andy Dalton - 2nd round
- Aaron Rodgers - 1st round
- Matt Ryan - 1st round
- Joe Flacco - 1st round
- Derek Carr - 2nd round
- Russel Wilson - 3rd round
- Matt Stafford - 1st round
- Cam Newton - 1st round
- Andrew Luck - 1st round
- Jameis Winston - 1st round
- Derek Carr - 2nd round
- Dak Prescott - 4th round
Franchise QB's based on where they were drafted:
1st Round QB's: 10
2nd Round QB's: 4
3rd Round QB's: 1
Late Round QB's: 2
Good luck to those who wait on QBs.
Eh, thats what I get for copy/pasting someone elses thoughts but I think they left him off the list because for some reason the Redskins are waffling on their most valuable player.Where's Kirk Cousins?
I was just giving you shit. I wasn't really expecting him to be on the list.Eh, thats what I get for copy/pasting someone elses thoughts but I think they left him off the list because for some reason the Redskins are waffling on their most valuable player.
I noticed they didnt list Alex Smith, either. Then again, I guess you could argue that you could find an Alex Smith in rd2 or rd3I was just giving you shit. I wasn't really expecting him to be on the list.
Apparently you think NFL Coaches and GMs have some level of job security. This is not how the NFL works. You roll the dice on a QB and hope things work out. People picked apart Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. Its your job as an NFL team to develop the guy sometimes. You find supplemental qb's till you find a good enough qb to take the risk.
Better than becoming irrelevant because your team has 3 positions of need and you go with a qb that fizzles out. Meanwhile the number 2 player drafted is a clear cut easy to predict all-pro bowler in the position you needed all because you took a dumb risk.Apparently you think NFL Coaches and GMs have some level of job security. The Chiefs have been taking supplemental QBs since before I was born. No Championships lately
I heard one of the talent gurus say just that on a talk show the other day. He did qualify it to say that it would be 4-5 years out but he thought by that time Mahomes would be the best of this class.Mahomes is the best QB in the draft, someone is getting a steal in late round 1.

My only issue is a first round pick shouldn't be a four or five year project. That should be closer to a third round pick unless you are a team like the Patriots were you can afford a couple of years to season a backup and primed to start once the QB steps down.I heard one of the talent gurus say just that on a talk show the other day. CC Matt Millen and Wide Receivers.Whoa....
Are you insinuating that other positions don't bust at a high rate?
You think the Rams are happy they've taken 2 Left Tackle busts #2 overall in the past decade?
I bet he probably thought Glenn Dorsey was going to be better than Matt RyanCC Matt Millen and Wide Receivers.
O-line is just like qb. You better make damn sure they are the right guy. Like the Saints drafting that garbage ass Andrus Peete. Who the hell would have thought a olinemen that should have never been drafted before round 3 would be a wasted pick?Whoa....

Matt Ryan was one of the easiest qb draft choices to make. He was clearly a first round pick.I bet he probably thought Glenn Dorsey was going to be better than Matt Ryan
The talking head didn't think Mahomes would be worht a first or even a second round pick. (Didn't think the rest of them were either but felt like some would get taken that high.) He thought Mahomes would go in the later rounds but would end up being the best of the class by the peak of their careers. My only issue is a first round pick shouldn't be a four or five year project.
