These guys will be available after the draft. These guys are not worth what they believe they are worth. Nobody believes these guys may not be able to help this team...the question is what do you pay them?

Maybe. But IM wondering if Bruce is going to go into his Im smarter than everyone mode again and we roll into the season with some flashy moves but not much substance.

guys we have 16 million we have to keep 7 million for rookies we can not get hankins and hodges with 9 million yes we can cut hall and lavo but you better have a sure replacement that are equal to better.. that would leave us with 0 money just at 9 mill for both with no cuts

I don't know what flashy moves you are referring to. We signed solid young players to reasonable contracts.

I would say Swearinger was a solid young player. I might say Pryor is a solid young player... the other two.... we once again signed a couple of backups to try and make them starters. And the draft hasnt come yet. Would you really be shocked if we say drafted a QB in the first?? As much as you rail against a RB, would it surprise you?? Honestly... would it shock you to see us make a draft day trade and deal Kirk for the #2 pick?

I dont quite know HOW they are going to fuck this up quite yet, but I do expect that Dan and Bruce will find a way, and make it look good off the field in the process.

I'm not so sure any FA is worth what they think they are worth including our own. Point is, we have 2 of the worst starting ILB's in the league (not just my opinion) and remain thin on the DLine. One of the two would go a long way in shoring up things prior to the draft. Can you imagine Hodges, then having Reddick fall to us.

I would say DJ and Pryor good young players. Both McGee and McClain were starters. They were both solid...McGee may have actually been good.

Nothing would surprise me in the draft because truthfully noylt a single person here knows what is actually going on behind the scenes.

Yes...both would help...but you do not overpay. Apparently, not a single team thinks they are worth close to what they believe.

That is the part I don't understand. Some are acting like the FO is screwing up but if that is the case then 31 other FOs are screwing up by not signing these guys. :noidea: Not saying that couldn't help, I am not a GM but if they could help you would want to sign them at the right price and to this point no one can find that price or some have seriously over valued them.

The best option is to cut Lauvao, Hall and Paul and then sign Zach Brown. We then only need to draft NT, RB and LG with our first 3 picks.

Hall will take a pay cut, Lauvao needs to take a pay cut, but wouldnt mind him as a backup. I could live with Brown as I dont expect we will draft an ILB before the 4th round.

And that what concerns me. Our run defense was a disaster last year because the middle of the defense was weak and we had the worst ILB corps in the NFL. We honestly need 2 new starters at this point but its not realistic. That is why I want us to sign Brown so we can use the 1st or 2nd rounder on the NT to anchor the defense. If the gut of the defense is a 1st round rookie, Brown and Foster and Cravens, that would be significantly better than the garbage we had last year.

Again, I just don't think the FO sees it as a problem. If we had the money, I would sign Brown and Hodges and use the 1st, 2nd and 3rd picks on NT, RB and LG and not even worry about ILB. Hodges should be very affordable but Brown would cost money. The ILB corp needs to be cleansed.

See I think Compton can be solid, Foster is a backup or at best the same player as Compton.

The real problem was Ziggy Hood starting at NT. We need a real NT, and I would be OK with a better ILB next to Compton.

Then we better use that 1st rounder on the NT and get the best one we possibly can unless the value just doesn't make sense. I don't think drafting a NT in the later rounds is the best course to take unless they will be depth. We neglect the DLine each year in the draft and its bit us in the butt finally. I am basically to the point that if we do nothing else in FA at this point, the first 4 picks MUST be ILB, NT, ILB and RB. I would prefer the NT be in the 1st or 2nd but outside of that, I do not care about the order. Those 4 positions are fairly weak or need upgrading. I truly hope the FO knows what they are doing with the draft because we have 10 picks and we can't waste this opportunity.

No change in my mind. You do NOT use a No. 1 pick on a guy who plays 15-20 plays per game. Now if you want to draft a DT that can play NT on 1st down then great.
