On twitter. It was Chris mortensen just today

mortensen never uses the word demand

There's this, too:

ESPN's Jason Reid reports "former Redskins officials who know Kirk Cousins" have said Cousins doesn't want to be in Washington and would prefer to be franchise-tagged rather than sign a long-term deal.

The sides have made what sounds like zero progress on a long-term deal, and Cousins may be fed up with the way Washington handled negotiations the past two years. The front office clearly didn't believe in Cousins last year, making him prove himself a
If Cousins is able to force his way out of D.C., a reunion in Santa Clara would be a good bet.

Reid would make sense ... he is well known to us ... i think this is the answer we are looking for

Breaking News:

Profootballtalk reports there's a "growing belief" in league circles the Browns could pursue Redskins franchise player Kirk Cousins.

Per a league source, Cousins' concern upon signing the franchise tag was that he could be traded, "specifically" to Cleveland. The Browns have the cap space, draft picks and need to pursue a deal. Were Cousins to be acquired without a long-term contract already in tow, the sides would have until July 15 to come to an agreement. Although he's tried to tamp down the speculation in recent days, Cousins appears bitterly unhappy in Washington.

As I noted in another thread - where is this evidence of Cousins being "bitterly unhappy" at this time? He appears to be acting quite the opposite of this. Show me proof & I might believe this ridiculous article.

I still haven't seen any evidence that anyone in the media - of even anyone here - said Cousins demanded a trade.

Well, Mike Jones is from the media, so it must be true. :heh:

Thanks for going to the trouble to get that answer.

Cousins: Reached out to gauge Redskins' plans

This is the problem with many of you. You refuse to wait for the facts. Stop believing fake news and inside sources. At least don't read them as fact.

The Redskins FO might be the fakest, jankiest mothafuckers east of the Rockies. They don't get nor do they deserve any benefit of doubt or semblance of belief.

For all we know it was Scot who turned down the trade proposals. Just like us lemmings (Skins fan), other GMs, coaches etc probably thought Scot actually had the duties that go along with the title of GM. Its well within reason if not factual to assume he was the one who was contacted about possible trades. It took what? 2 years after Shanny was gone that we found out who was really behind the Griffin trade and why/how in part Griffin became a self entitled prick. It was going into year 3 when we found out Scot was a GM in title only. No one is refusing to wait for facts. They are being intentionally hidden and/or lied about.

And just cuz Kirk says some shit that sounded good, that don't make what he said gospel. For all the "we want Kirk here long term." talk from Allen's two faced, winning off the field ass and the recent "facts" that Kirk dropped. That he's warm and gooey in all the right places cuz the owner of the team made him feel wanted. It doesn't strike you as somewhat odd in a factual way that no long term deal has been worked out yet?

I wonder how many years it'll take before we find out what was really behind Allen pulling a power-play on Scot and why he was fired.

There are reports that indicate SM wanting to sign Kirk long term before the 2015 season, knowing that the longer they waited the more they would have to unnecessarily overpay Him. Bruce and Dan balked and If these reports are true there's never going to be a LTD....Sad!!

They have a plan. IM telling you, if Kirk isnt signed long term before the draft, and Watson is there at 17, we are drafting him. If they feel Watson wont be there at 17, they are going to call SF and make a deal to send them Kirk for the #2, the only question will be do we get anything else, or do we end up giving up more than Just Kirk. HAving Kirk play on the tag makes no sense unless we draft his eventual replacement.

Now wouldnt it be Ironic if they Drafted Watson at 17, played Kirk on the tag, and Kirk went from above average to, slightly below elite. Because that is just the kind of luck this team has under Danny Boy

Few if any will like that plan, however, if it plays out that way, it's going to be interesting to see the adjustments made on this site, to justify moves like that. I don't believe that Watson is there at 17 and ANY move to get him does indeed smack of good ole' Dan "we can sell this guy" Snyder.

BTW: Kirk playing on the tag and drafting Watson with an outcome of Kirk going from pretty good to slightly below elite seems on its face to be a win win (cost to keep exempted) because it would mean no more Colt McCoy. Then again, using that pick on a player that could help immediately seems the wiser thing to do, so that's not in the cards either.

Sty, did i just read that you said KC is pretty good and can go to slightly below elite? I think we are going to have to nominate you for membership in the KC fan club!

I've always maintained that Kirk is a pretty good QB. The reference to him going slightly below elite belonged to @Shark. In as much as a fan club goes, he's our guy, until he isn't, that's as far as I'll go with that.
