more BS from the press corp and their un named sources. Turns out KC didn't " demand" shit. Or begged anyone for anything . Listen to the Adam shefter podcast and KC himself. Speaks about it . We should have known he was too polite a person to demand anything .

I have even more faith we will get a LTD. with him

Now the nay Sayers will believe one thing and the supporters. Another. But he came out and said it while UN named source hides under the tablec

One way to help squash some of this would be for Allen and/or Snyder to actually face the press. Why are they so afraid of doing this? Just about every other team does this. This whole hush hush atmosphere at Redskins Park just makes this much worse and opens up the rumor mill. Both of these guys are major wusses (especially Snyder).

Unnamed sources also claimed SM was on the way out. You called it yellow journalism and still bought the grieving the grandmother story.

Just sayin'

how is this for a headline ?

"Cousins does not see himself re-signing with Redskins"

Cousins: I Never Demanded a Trade From Redskins

“Do you see yourself in Washington long-term, Kirk?”

“No, I see myself keeping an open mind,” Cousins answered. “I see myself going through this negotiation process as there’s still time until the July 15 deadline. And from there you still have a whole 16-game season, and hopefully more games than that. And then from there, you can still be tagged again. And this entire process for me, from a contractual standpoint, has been framed by the franchise tag rules. It hasn’t really been framed by my market value. I would be content to go to the market and see what that value is and settle for whatever that is. But because of the franchise tag rules, and the team’s use of the tag, that just hasn’t taken place.

“So as a result, my agent has had this whole negotiation from the perspective of the franchise tag rules. And until that system of the tag is removed from the equation, or removed from the collective bargaining agreement altogether, that’s gonna frame the entirety of my agent’s approach. We’ll just keep going.

Good pull. This whole thing falls 100% on the Redskins. They have botched this since day 1. As a result they are either going to have to pay a ton to Cousins (some may say overpay) or eventually let him go. There are many things that they could have done to avoid this & there is a chance that they will botch this even more. Cousins is in the catbird's seat & primarily because of the poor decisions and smugness of this organization.

Only way I think it gets solved is the transition tag. See who's willing to pay the most. Sounds as if that's what he wants

Sounds like Kirk wants to get paid really well now... or really really well later. He doesnt come of as arrogant about it. But I get the vibe that he thinks playing on the tag another year will only drive his price upwards. He is confident in his ability to actually improve on last years performance.I know its a huge what if, but what if he does put up more than 4900 yards, 25 passing TDs, 4 rushing TDs and the team makes the playoffs. The Skins might actually have to franchise tag or give him a long term deal with at that point upwards of $90M guaranteed.

Maybe, maybe not. The point is you have instantly dismissed every report from unnamed sources and you have been proven wrong many times. So obviously your theory that they are ALL bogus is simply not true, therefore logic says it's wrong to instantly dismiss them.

Totally missing the point. Of course our opinions don't always pan out. How about my RGIII position? :)

The point remains it is wrong to instantly dismiss reports based on nothing more than the sources are unnamed. As these sources have proven to provide accurate information in the past, as we just saw again last week, that should end the debate right there.
