While part of me was hoping they would resign Garcon and Jackson, IM almost ok with them leaving. If we are going to retain Kirk and he is as good as we hope, changing WRs should not be a huge drop off in production provided the WRs we bring in have any sort of skill what so ever.

It is crazy. When Kc sees that PG and Dj are elsewhere he will force a trade.

he can wait for carr/stafford to sign for the price of the tag to escalate

but he can not refuse to play under the tag

.... as for Garcon ... good for him.

he was a good guy & I am happy for him.

He should get as much money as he can.

However, the 9ers are nucking futz to pay 16m

They are clearly going all out this offseason to try and be competitive next season.

I'm not too sure of Staff signing this offseason.

while we have a Lions & Raiders fan in the room ... lol

enlighten us on your QB situations. When are they expected to agree to terms ?

@broncosmitty you think Staff is going to get tagged also ?

Actually Kirk could refuse to play.. as long as he doesnt sign the tender. But then he would have to sit out the year. He could sign the tender up to week 8, but then he would basically forfeit half of the tender and risk the team once again tagging him. If he sat the whole year, the Skins would tag him again as his rights would revert to us and the tag tender would basically be the same $24M because he refused to sign it this year.

There is a whole lot of mess still to go through here. I agree he will try and hold out on signing the tender until after either Stafford or Carr get extended, then try to base his new deal off of those numbers.

Forcing a trade is in no ones best interest (well aside from Dean) because it lowers his trade value from the Skins standpoint, and they would rather hold him for the season and take the 3rd than be forced into sending him to where he wants to go and starting the season with a lame duck McCoy as the starter.

Ultimately even without both of them we have Reed, Davis, Crowder, and Doctson. That's still more than most teams have.

Not sure but they will sign him up long term.....he's clearly the franchise as the playoff game showed.

Bob Quin has said a few things lately that lead me to believe they aren't in a hurry to work a deal. Not from the FO side, or Staffs. (Along the lines of he has always wanted to keep Staff, since he became GM. He thinks he's "good". But it's a two way street and nobody is in a hurry.)

I'd like to see it be soon, eat some of this years cap space with a bonus and then have a QB locked up thru his prime.

But I get the feeling it will play out into the season and possibly into a situation like you guys have.

Someone will have to set the market, but can't say as I have a guess as to who it will be.

If Kc forces a trade and says I want out now and SF offers reasonable compensation then that is good for the Skins.

what we have here is a mexican standoff between these three quarterbacks.

Everyone deals, & possible long term contract, are going to be dictated by the deal Staff gets.

Bring your ass on Matt, lol

The Redskins’ offer to Cousins. Washington has said it wants to sign Cousins long-term, but the Redskins haven’t come close to the baseline offer they know his side wants. You can say Cousins is being unreasonable, but that’s irrelevant. The bottom line is that’s what it will take to get it done right now. If the Redskins don’t increase their latest offer of $20 million per year (was told it offered low guarantees) then other teams can read this one way: They won’t sign him to a long-term deal. Therefore, if the Redskins want to get anything for Cousins they’ll have to lower their demands. Or risk losing him after next season for a third-round compensatory pick in 2019.

Cousins forces a trade, it lowers his trade value. What part of that dont you get?? If you are standing there trying to buy a car, the guy asks for $10K cash... sure you want the car.. .but if his wife walks out the house half way through the talks and says John you either get rid of that car, or Im leaving... you going to hand him $10K, or offer him $7K knowing that he is under the gun to get rid of the car now or else??

The Redskins demands were two first rounds picks. We know they are not going to get that. I believe the 49ers will give up the #2 pick to get KC in the building NOW. Why would they give PG 16m this year without KC throwing him the ball? It doesn't make sense.

Maybe because Garcon is actually a good WR and no matter who is under center they are going to need good WRs. Garcon also has some background with Shanahan making the transition for the offense easier.
