Romo got his team in the playoffs or basically carried his team to decent seasons.

& Cousins took his team to the playoffs & was within a game of doing it again. Much of the reason for not making the playoffs this season doesn't fall on Cousins. Sure - he could have made the difference in a few games but stop acting like Cousins was the primary reason why this team didn't do better.

Hmm - let's take a look at this year's games for your precious Andrew Luck. It certainly looks like he was a major reason for most of the losses (perhaps some of the poor ratings & picks were partially because of others but you could say the same for Cousins). Many of these losses involved INTs, low completion % & very low overall ratings.

Sure - there are other personnel issues for the Colts that led to the losses. However - the same can be said for the Redskins. Perhaps Luck was somewhat injured during this time. Well - if that is the case then please give props to Cousins for one of his bigger assets - he (knock on wood) never gets injured.

Maybe Cousins isn't as bad as you think.

BTW - take a look at one of this year's SB QBs - Matt Ryan. Last season he had big numbers in terms of overall yds but his TD amt (especially vs. INTs) was disappointing as was the overall record of the team & he made critical mistakes.

Remind you of anyone? I am by no means comparing Cousins to Ryan. However - it just demonstrates that a QB can improve (perhaps dramatically) from year to year. Improvement requires a combination of improved QB play, improved personnel & better coaching.

"So hopefully down the road there will be people wanting me," Cousins said. "But we’ll see how it all plays out. The unique thing about the franchise tag is if the Redskins choose to place that on me, then I’m pretty much off the market." None of it is inflammatory, but speaks to Cousins being a realist about his situation. He's not going to be handing out any hometown discounts in long-term talks.

OK - that being the case Cousins just had two of the biggest passing seasons ever by a Redskins QB & is one of the few Redskins QBs in the last 20 years who will be starting in his 3rd straight year. You would be willing to give that up just to pickup some draft picks?

Man you are gullible. The media throws that out just to get people to their site. Cousins is likely throwing that out there to improve his negotiation position. Not much more to it than that.
