Sooooo...

LeClown and Sir Charles are having a tiff? interesting...:rolleyes2:

only thing i'll say on the matter is Charlie ain't playing anymore. LeClown had better worry about what's happening ON the court...

^^^^THIS^^^

Maybe if Lebron just stfu and worried about playing basketball instead of making passive aggressive comments towards the Cavs FO and worrying about what some analyst said about him, the Cavs wouldn't have a losing record this month.

it should be entertaining- but in the end- all LeBron has to do is flash his rings to make Barkley look like a fool.

hmmmm....i want to agree with you....but i dunno...its a pretty mentally resilent team.

do i think they are losing becuase of LeBron talking, or do i think they are losing because they are in the dog days of the NBA season in January, have been dealing with injuries, just traded for a guy, and have generally just not been playing great ball...

id prob go with option 2.

LeBron isnt helping matters- i totally agree with that- and this is DEF. one of those times where he would be better of served shutting up- but i dont think it has any tangible effect once the ball is thrown up in mid-court.

I think your original point is just fluff every team spouts at press conferences. Trying to change the narrative that Waiters was pining to come to Miami because of how great they are- is nothing compared to the fact that- he was out of options due to being dumped into free agency weeks after it started- and Miami was an ideal situation for him to re-establish his value.

Im surprised Riley didnt at least protect himself with like an 8 million dollar team option or something for year 2. Instead- its likely - unless the Heat want ot invest a multi-year deal. that all he did was drive up his dollars and push you guys down a few lotto slots.

you think Waiters is on the Heat if he was a UFA on day 1 of free agency?- its possible- but certainly not probable.

Ive heard it out of Waiters mouth, several times, even during the losing.

Its not or never was a Heat/Riley spin.

Both Waiters and James Johnson said they chose the Heat because of culture, pedigree, leadership from the top down, etc..

Each time they are now interviewed, they confirmed everything they had heard about the Heat is accurate.

It's really fun to watch them both play right now.

Question is can/will the Heat be able to keep them this summer?

Wait!! How is this possible?!? From what we've been told, Arison is a "cheapskate" and Riley has "lost his fastball."

There is absolutely no fucking way that the Heat could possibly be anything but a dumpster fire.

i guess we shall see if he wants to put his money where his mouth is come free agency. My guess is he takes every last dollar.....but the great part is--- we shall see!

seriously...?

why the friggin' Sam Hill does LeClown even CARE about what Drinkin' Charlie thinks...?
Barkley is a top 30 player of all time and is pretty highly respected, and when he's not drunk at the desk or falling asleep, he's one of the better analyst.

Players care a lot more about what former players say, compared to guys like Cowherd and Skip that just stir shit up to stir shit up.

LeBron's not the first guy to get his jimmies rustled by Barkley.

But everything Barkley said was true, and his talking points were strictly basketball related.

LeBron is acting like a bitch, is my point.

Hmmmmm, might Minny be in the trade facilitating business?

or

Are they making room for another run at Jimmy Butler?

Bobby Marks: Minnesota starting today can start the paperwork to remove the salary of Nikola Pekovic if his injury is deemed career ending.

Bobby Marks: The Timberwolves currently with $12.7m in room would see that total increase to $24.8m. The salary would still count towards the cap floor.

– via Twitter BobbyMarks42
damn....i think its very possible

thats crazy they have all that cap room.

they could get even moreby moving Rubio- which they could in an hour if they really really wanted to. A LOT of payroll flexibility and a ton of assets there

they are starting to play better too.

I have to say though- because of the injury histories i would take- Towns---- but if i was just playing 1 game right now and wanted to win- i take Embiid over Towns....pretty crazy.

Oh, and the Heat are going to be the 8 seed.

8-0Karo

Glad to see the hometown guy doing well, he played at FSU and graduated from Clearwater High, 5 minutes from my work, one of my co-workers is pretty good friends with him actually.

I agree with you. Barkley made some basketball arguments and LeBron had to get personal and mention past acts that have ZERO to do with basketball in order to try and make himself feel better....that happens more often then you think ...lol.....

Id rather of had LeBron just flash his rings- and keep it to basketball- then getting personal.

Would have been 10x better last year with Wade still there, won't have the same feeling now, the team is almost 100% (actually may be 100%) completely different than from when LBJ was actually there.

I doubt anyone on the Heat roster as it stands really gives a shit that LeBron left.

Barkley has a big mouth. He can have his own opinions but when you personally attack someone they have the right to say something back. Lebron whining, in which he does a lot, isn't anything compared to what Barkley did. Barkley was a terrible role model, from spitting on a little girl to throwing a man through a window.

Lebron has always been a whiner but he does it to get what he wants bc he is the leader of the team. Kobe whined just as much as Lebron and he won championships. Gotta respect it, whatever it is.

Highly respected, yes. People care about what former players say bc for the most part they are very knowledgeable but opinons are opinions and there is no way around it. Barkley just expresses his opinions strongly sometimes, that's just who he is. If you can dish it, you gotta take it.

I keep blowing off the losses as part of the grind of the long regular season.
I've seen it here, and called for it to happen there numerous times.
Let's address it after Feb 24 when trade deadline passes.

I do think there is a real shot that Cavs don't end up 1 seed if they don't get their shit together soon.
They have a ton of games, back to backs down the stretch and rest might become more important then W's.

Any team, no matter how mentally resilient, can only handle so much extraneous bullshit. Just being the defending champs brings extra attention and unwanted nonsense.

When your best player and team leader is constantly adding to it, it starts to take a toll. Every team in the league is dealing with injuries, trades and/or the "dog days." But not every team in the league is 7-8 for the month of January.

I'm not saying that it's the sole reason the Cavs are in a bit of a slump, but it certainly does have an effect. Think about it. These guys have been spending the majority of every single day together since October. Many fans, even Cavs fans, are growing tired of this stuff from Lebron. Imagine being on the team and dealing with it all day, every day.

Because of the injuries, trade and "dog days" the team needs their best player and leader focused on the game and on his team to lead them through it. They don't need him taking shots at the FO and getting into pissing matches with an analyst who hasn't put on a uniform in 20 years.

that would be a LOT of fun. Dion Waiters' irrational confidence would be something to behold in that series. lol....I would love that.....seeing Dion....seeing Blancote deal with Love and Thompson over 7 games....Dragic and Kyrie.....

as far as 1st round series would go- that is DEFINITELY my hope. Id much rather get the HEat in the first round then like Detroit or Indiana or Washington.
