We can forget about talking draft. This team is too good. Winning B2B against the Clippers (albeit a pretty bad team without CP3 and Blake returning from weeks away) and then road vs. a fully healthy Bucks team without Embiid is eye-opening.

I thought the playoffs couldn't happen because of the B2Bs that Embiid will miss, but even that's fading.

I'm calling it now. The Sixers will be the 8 seed and scare the shit out of Cleveland.

And then I hope it shows Gordon Hayward where he should sign this offseason :)

10-3 in their last 13 games ... the attitude of the team has changed from expecting to lose to believing they can win. Players have embraced their roles and have come together. McConnell with double digit assists in his last 3 games, Noel finding his role in the last couple, Ilyasova has been an incredible pickup to compliment Embiid, Saric doing dirty work ... all this setting the table for Ben Simmons. We could still end up in the lottery one way or the other through the Sacramento swap or the Lakers if they don't end up top 3 ... but yeah, I don't think our own pick is going to get us into the top 5-7.

8 seed? They're going to win the division. 10 games back.

Toronto is on an almost 50 win pace so the Sixers would have to finish 33-5 to win the division. So it's possible.

That would be unbelievable. I still would like to finish strong, but still gt into the lottery. We need a PG and SG yet to be real good.

Haha. I was saying that very tongue-in-cheek as we'd have to turn into the Warriors overnight to pull off a 33-5. But definitely not joking about the playoffs. That I think will happen.

As far as the team being very good, it's already very good. Embiid is having a franchise altering year. No one in this draft approaches Ben Simmons ceiling and we are putting up good offensive numbers with the guards we have lately. To be dynastic, the easiest way would be to nab one of the elite guards in this draft, but there are other paths that open up once other NBA players realize what a monster Embiid is. Players/Stars will want to come here.

No matter how they finish they'll be in the lottery. The lakers pick may end up a coin flip, but between the sixers and kings, there's going to be a lottery pick. Perhaps not as low as we would have liked.

I think that Brown will shut Embiid down at some point, and may do likewise with Simmons, to protect them from getting re-injured, so we may still wind up in the lottery on our own + at least one other lottery pick (LA or Sac).

On what basis? At some point, they have to play. He can't just shut them down forever because they've had injuries in their past. There needs to be a medical basis for the decision.

Embiid and Simmons "need" to play together once Simmons comes back to build chemistry between them.

I want to do it all homegrown now. That would be even more sweet for the whole run.

I think they can. With a good draft of a player that can shoot from the outside, and someone that can help bring up the ball to help out Simmons, it could happen.

My boy Monk had an off day but I still want him. Josh Jackson showed why he is a stud, and I think he will flourish the rest of the season, especially if he learns to shoot 3s consistently.

Josh Jackson has done really well the past 2 games .... he's finally starting to find his way. Monk had a good first half then just went cold.

Embiid out tonight and the next 2, at least. Playoffs not going to happen. I know we won a couple without him, but the team is not anywhere near good enough without him to accumulate enough wins.

This moron Colangelo is going to ruin this team. He trades Noel (who I was in favor of trading) for literally nothing. Anderson, who is not likely to be a rotation player, and 2 second round picks. Our clueless, snake-oil salesman of a GM is out running his mouth at the press conference saying he got a 1st round pick for Noel, but he conveniently left out the part that Dallas would have to go 24-2 the rest of the season to reach the 19th pick (it's protected 1-18 this year otherwise 2 2nds).

We will be saved by Embiid and Simmons' talent in the end (assuming health), but I have no doubt Colangelo is going to piss away the treasure trove of assets Sam Hinkie left him.

I can't believe this idiot is our GM.

The best thing that can happen is if the owner sells the team soon.

Colangelo is definitely an idiot and I hope he gets fired before he squanders the talent and draft picks Hinkie amassed.

Noel isn't worth anywhere near what it would have taken to keep him here. They simply had to unload him or end up with nothing when he walked. Okafor's value right now is zilch ... so I don't mind not just trading him for peanuts.

We have to hope that we get 2 early lottery picks that can shoot, and then maybe next year look to sign a star free agent.
