He took 13 shots in a game where he was not "en fuego," as you call it. Proof enough that he has the potential to lose a game for them. That game happened to be Game 7, so it should be concerning. He outshot Love in 5 games of the Finals last year, so it's been proven that he isn't the 4th option for them against the Warriors. He's number 3.

Well, same applies for Love, so then it comes down to offense, which is why I'd atleast consider it more

the offense might be a wash but Love brings a lot more to the table.

Love is an elite rebounder, he is a great passer for a big man, he is a better 3 pt shooter- you know that he can accept being or more less the 3rd of the Big 3 as it seems obvious Kyrie has surpassed him--- you dont nkow if Melo would accept being 3rd.....

also, Love is cheaper, and signed for 3 more years and is only 28 years old....while Carmelo is more expensive, only signed for 2 more years, and is 32 years old.

there is no way the Cavs would trade Love for Melo.

Yeah, neither Love or Melo will be on any all defensive teams anytime soon, but Love will at least try. As you point out, he's also a good passer for a big while I'm not sure Melo has ever passed the ball without expecting to get it back immediately. Add Love's rebounding and the fact that he's younger to the mix and the Cavs would have to be completely batshit crazy to make that trade.

When Kyrie and Love are out the game, who's going to make the other guys better? Carmelo could be that guy.
