No coincidence those are the four teams left - it's still a QB league.

I think Siemian could be a very good QB in the right right offense and with a good defense. Siemian doesn't have the physical ability that Lynch does, but right now Lynch sees the game moving at a blur where Siemian doesn't. I see Siemian being a poor (maybe even a very poor man's) Aaron Rogers. He doesn't have the physical tools of Rogers, but he has good mobility with good decision making most of the time. Siemian made some bad throws this year but he was a human pinata. Does anyone remember how ordinary Rogers look last year when our D hit him constantly?

I could see us bring in a cheap vet, especially one that knows the system we are going to run, as an insurance policy.

How dare you come on this board and give Trevor props and totally diss Lynch ! Do you realize that the majority of NFL " qualified " personal including Denver's coaching staff and players have stated that Trevor, with an O line that couldn't pass pro or run block , showed a lot of potential , poise ,toughness, etc despite all that ,and these same people including many fans saw that Lynch has a long way to go to even give Trevor any competition for starting gig next yr by what he has shown so far. Do you actually realize you made a very legitimate observation and post ? What is wrong with you ! Shame on you!

Oh yes, I see Ben, Brady, Rodgers and Ryan as his future. :gaah:

I'm glad you see that - but I see a fine back up QB. Nothing wrong with that.

Dude, where did he diss Lynch? In fact, half of what you said JDB never said at all.

You're too old to bring that much drama. Save that for when CD turns you down at prom.

Not excited right now about what we have at QB for next year , that is to say , maybe getting into the playoff but can't really see them doing any damage unless the Defense goes on another historic run.

I am in the very unpopular camp of thinking that neither Lynch nor Siemian has the complete skillset, mentally and physically, to be 'the guy'...

I'd say that when you have spent a 1st and 3rd on Lynch, at some point you have to give him the opportunity to sink or swim. My best guess is that Elway thinks his best chance to improve is to play and not be coddled. Whether he can be that guy or not is certainly a legit question. It's my opinion that the long term potential is worth the short term pain.

Not sure that is an unpopular opinion. I think Denver needs a vet QB. My concern about Romo is not health but his win percentage in the playoffs ? And Trevor is not really the most durable QB either.

The comparison I see for Siemian is Alex Smith. Smith is a fine quarterback, but he doesn't make people around him better. Ultimately that kind of quarterback is limiting to what your team can accomplish. Basically unless the team around him is outstanding, he's not going to be enough to get you over that hump.

Now, maybe Siemian can turn into that kind of guy. I'm not writing him off yet. But personally I'm skeptical. Lynch certainly is far more gifted physically, so I think the potential for him is much higher, although at this point Siemian is undoubtedly the better quarterback. But with an entire offseason of work with McCoy and Musgrave, I'm really hoping the Broncos give both guys a shot at the starting qb spot going into next season.

Great post. What frustrates me about Siemian is he has shown some flashes of brilliance, but way too underwhelming to get me excited. Hopefully he can grow this offseason and turn it up under McCoy. I hope he turns into the next Brett Favre

Get yourselves a real run game. If you chase a Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, Ben you'll probably never get one. And you can't get run over on the otherside of the ball like happened too many times this year.

I agree 100%, but if we are taking bets on anyone on our roster as a franchise qb, ill take the neither option and feel pretty confident. I hope I am wrong though

Perhaps we don't need a franchise QB if we can get better quality performances from the OL unit. It could be effectively argued that we didn't have that level of QB play during the last SB run.
