He admits that he didn't call the proper pass protection on the INT play. Doesn't that bother anyone else on here? Or just me. He just came across that it wasn't my fault attitude. Plus the fumble is on him and the coaching staff. First the coaching staff should of called a run with NSke out of the game. 2nd you hold the ball that long in that situation.

This was his 3rd worst game this year. I put Pitt #1 and Week 2 Dallas #2.

OK got to call BS here. How was the fumble on him?? Lauvao looked like he was on roller skates going backwards from the moment the ball was snapped. The INT was on Kirk no doubt, but the sack fumble..... that was all big SL.

As for our issues in the Redzone, This comes down to a lack of power from the O-line, and piss poor play calling from the OC. First and goal from the 2 and we are trying to pass....

Its on KC b/c how can you not feel that pressure coming. I saw Gruden yelling at him on the sideline just take the sack. He forced that throw. He was fading away. So that means he saw or felt someone coming.

Why cant we run behind Scherff at the 2 yardline? We draft the guy 5th overall but we cant run behind him from the 2??? Doesn't make sense to me. He supposed to be the strongest olineman on the team.

Might it be because the guy next to him sucks at run blocking?? Even with Scherff and Williams in the lineup, our line is average at best when it comes to run blocking.

No. Kelly had some nice run yesterday. Moses is fine at run blocking. Its redzone coaching once again. Why not move Scherff to LG? I don't get it. This line is huge we should be able to get two yards.

We rushed for a total of 87 yards, and most of that came from running to the left or straight up the middle. We need some improvement on the line

We were down in ther game because we are the one team in the league that consistently fails to punch it into the endzone from first and goal with 5 or less yards for the score. Thats NOT a problem of coaching, its a problem of an O-line that gets no push. We need at minimum two upgrades on the O-line. One is LG and the other aint Center.

If we had talent even remotely close to that of an average run blocking O-line, and we kept calling passes. Then yes I would say its coaching. But we are 13 games in, and we KNOW that more often than not if we try to run it in, we will get stuffed.... thats a lack of talent. Or more to the point a lack of a complete O-line.

I call BS here... We seem to abandon the run and get pass happy almost every game. We need to run more imo. First, let's find someone besides the turnstile at LG to improve things quickly. If Long returns, perhaps move him back to LG and leave Sullivan at center I'm not sure but do something.

You wont find me disagreeing that we need better production all around from the Left Guard position. But I also think we need to replace one other starter on the line, possibly two as I also think Long is average but we need better at center.

How in the hell do you suggest replacing up to 3 players on the O line while also addressing all of the holes on the defense? You can't replace everyone & again you should not make the goal to build this perfect team on both sides of the ball - just do the best that you can.

Shark expects better I guess but we have a solid offensive line with exception of LG. Long has improved a great deal this year at Center. In fact, he has made everyone forget about Lichtenstieger and he has the ability to play at LG and be an improvement over Lavau. Williams may very well be the best LT in the league. Schreff is playing at a Pro bowl level. Moses, all things considered, has saved us at the RT position. While not the most athletic guy, he keeps improving while playing through injuries. He has great size and good mobility and is young. I like his upside and believe he can man the RT position for years to come. Across the board we are solid with good backups in Nyske and Sullivan. We just need an upgrade at LG now and if that happens, I believe we can become a top 5 offensive line next year.

I will admit Center would be hard to replace. I have an idea for LG, but it would require a little bit of poaching from a team that likely wont be able to afford to keep some one. As for the other player I think we could afford to upgrade, his replacement started the last four games for us.

IM also sort of banking on 4 cuts, three of which Im some what sure on.

Bruton was already cut
I expect Hall, and Litch... my long shot is Lauvao...

With Roll over money, this would put us right around $70 million in cap space.

With an O-line of Trent, (the guy I hope we poach), Center, Scherff, and Ty Nyseke

Even if we had to Tag Kirk again, I think we could get some talent in here with roughly $45 million in cap space dont you??

Leary.... Dallas is currently $10 million over. He is still on his rookie deal and likely wants to get paid.

Intriguing however, could that 10m be spent more effectively on the dline or some where else on D?

You miss my point.

1. I dont think Leary costs $10 million against the cap. If you look at Lauvao's deal, he averaged $4.5 million a year against the cap. So I can see Leary getting between $5.5-7 million a year average, and costing no more than $5 million against the cap in year one. Shawn Lauvao Contract Details, Salary Cap Charges, Bonus Money | Over The Cap

2. The only reason I think he is poachable is because short of massive contract reworking, Dallas will still be hampered by the gift that keeps giving (the Romo Contract)

3. out making a single move, the Skins stand to have just shy of $60 million in cap space. Cut Hall, Lauvao and Litch, and we are at around $71 million in cap space. Meaning.. .we could Franchise tag Kirk ($24 million) and still have $47 million in which to resign Baker, add to the defense and STILL sign the target of my poaching. :D

Yes I have put thought into this before just throwing it out there. Bonus, if Kirk is signed long term, I dont expect his year one cap hit to be any more than $17 million.

Just remember that an O line performs as a unit and not just 5 individuals. The more consistency the better. Very few lines perform well when you are constantly making changes (although I will admit that the Redskins have done surprisingly well in this respect).

I can see getting rid of Lauvao but would be very cautious about making changes throughout the line. I certainly would not advocate spending really any more money finding replacements in this area - just too many holes on defense to warrant this approach.
