We know how quickly OD's screen will be covered in goo if/when any kind of official official announcement came out with that news. Hell, he probably had to clean it up after just reading it on that insider board.

It's a good thing I'm not in charge -- Because I have mixed feelings. I think he can pick up and make up the recruiting that is lost. But I think teams have figured out his style, here in 2016. But it could still work if there was an above avg defense. As a true fan I will support their decision, PJ Fleck is the guy I want.

Yeah, if he does want to come back it seems like a no brainer. I think your concerns are valid though. I don't think it'd be some amazing instant turnaround like I'm guessing a lot of your fans would be looking for too. I know your not all like OD, but I'm sure he's not the only one with those expectations.

I don't think Chip really likes college ball. Mainly the recruiting and rules. I do think he likes the fact that the kids leave after 4 years. But it doesn't matter as he isn't coming back.

As to Fleck, I think it's a poor fit. He's a young rah rah type and I think they want a somewhat more seasoned and/or tough minded coach. That's why I think it will be Tagart.

My sources tell me it's going to be Willie Taggart. And I' all for it. I was hoping for Frost or Holgorsen, but they weren't interested.

I think Taggart will bring a true, tough culture and bring some accountability.

Willie Taggart trained under old man Jack Harbaugh at Western Kentucky when they won the 2002 I-AA natty, and later under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford. IMO, Taggart would probably be a very good fit for Oregon, and would most likely bring a lot of toughness and success to the Ducks program.

Chip hates recruiting. However, given how the 49ers season is going, I think he's starting to realize that he's going to be a college coach sooner or later. I think an Oregon/Chip reunion is more likely than some on this board think. It's not a slam dunk but I'm hearing there's more smoke than Chip is letting on.
