Nobody knows because Richardson has been out with his injury. I would assume Richardson but its possible Spo may want to help out our bench a little bit and give J-Rich the 6th man role. One person who I know is not starting for sure (at least I think) is waiters. He came off the bench in the 3 preseason games so far. Its possible they go with Ellington. He worked well starting tonight with Dragic and also gives us another shooter on the court so for those teams who want to double Whiteside. I'm thinking Richardson though.

I'd like J-Rich at the 6th man role as it'd give him the opportunity for 6th man of the year and give him valuable experience.

Dion Waiters could be so good if he ever put team first. He really could be an electric 6th man playing some point/combo guard. He is a headcase though- i know i have said this before- but i am fairly convinced he actually thought he should be the 1B option with Lebron as 1a, kyrie is 3 and love as 4....he REALLY REALLY believes in his own talent. He has the speed and size and strength and quickness to be a great defensive player too. The guy just cant get the mental half of the game it appears. I dunno. Its a shame. Prepare to be frustrated- seeing some really really good things- and some really really crazy things at times.

You're probably right. Waiters is in a make or break year. He could show that he's worth a lot more than the $2.9 mil that he's getting and put the team first and put together a solid year where he shows he has what it takes to be a mid tier SG in the NBA that deserves around $8-$12 mil per year. Our he could try and capitalize off his situation selfishly and try to put up stats to get his next big contract. Guess we'll see.

Many head cases have found their way to Miami and then thrived.
I'm fully expecting him to be successful here.

Waiters came into the NBA an unfinished product and has never really progressed IMO. It has unfortunately been a recurring theme with ex-Syracuse players of late, jumping for that money but never becoming a polished professional. Boeheim never really trusted Waiters enough to even be a starter in college, coming off the bench while Boeheim started two upperclassmen PGs instead.

I hope he does put it together, as he does have a lot of talent. I just think he needs a strong coach-player relationship to get coached up a bit more.

He will never live up to that top 5 pick. I loved how when he was drafted everyone was calling him the next D-Wade. That boy is nothing like D-Wade. He is way too hot and cold IMO. At this point he is best suited for a 6 man role.

its pretty disheartening that leBron did basically everything he could to try and get the most out of waiters- but finally him and the team just gave up on him....all though- it does help they ended up getting jr, iman and mozgov for him.

If that trade doesn't happen, Cleveland doesn't win a title. And as bk mentioned, he hasn't come anywhere close to that top 5 pick. I remember the threads where people were saying he was going to be better than Wade. Glad I called that one.

Not that it reallt matters now, but I know it got them J.R. and Iman

Moz was much more complicated, I believe, which included use of trade exception, cash, multiple draft picks, etc..

That 2012 draft wasn't the strongest...

1. Anthony Davis - supremely talented, top 10 talent, injury-prone?, wasted on Pelicans to this point
2. Kidd-Gilchrist - injury-prone, ugly jumper
3. Bradley Beal - talented scorer, injury-prone?
4. Dion Waiters - head case, overdrafted
5. Thomas Robinson - overdrafted, yet to catch on anywhere
6. Damon Lillard - supremely talented, top 10 talent
7. Harrison Barnes - bit of an enigma to this point, but shows glimpses
8. Terrence Ross - strong role player
9. Andre Drummond - dominating old school center, free throw woes
35. Draymond Green
39. Khris Middleton

Redraft probably something like:

1. AD
2. Lillard
3. Green
4. Drummond
5. Beal
6. Middleton

Fucking Byron Scott had me sipping the Wade Kool aid.

Little did I know it was actually moonshine.

Just looked at that draft. Man we had a lot of busts in that draft. Especially in the first round lol. That draft was a freaking train wreck.

If that draft is redone, Dame's probably number 1.

Edit: Number 2, as I just saw Anthony Davis. Although there's some room for debate.

I remember being so depressed about the Heat passing on Draymond Green. Knew he'd be good, but not as good as he is now.

dan g. said that was his biggest draft regret--- the fool WENT to Michigan St. and loved draymond int he draft....ughhh....that was a big time mistake.

Izzo and Gilbert are good friends;

Izzo had told him, "You gotta take my guy." The Cavs had two second-round picks, and Izzo was calling Gilbert, a Michigan State guy, to tell him that Draymond Green was the real deal. "I still wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat that we didn't take him," Gilbert says of Green, who torched the Cavs for 28 points in the Warriors' 110-77 win in Game 2 of the Finals. "I didn't listen to my gut."

Let's forget about the butterfly effect and the Warriors' culture of player development and just imagine if Cleveland's starting lineup was Kyrie Irving, Andrew Wiggins, LeBron James, Draymond Green and Tristan Thompson. Just imagine it for a second. I guess it's sort of understandable that Gilbert is still waking up in a cold sweat over this.---

- this would be oneo f the most athletic, versatile lineups ever...lol.....would be INSANE in the open floor.

If Green was on the Cavs in 2015 - Cleveland wins the series in 7 I believe.
