Nebraska was rand 61st in total Defense last year. Appalachian State and central Michigan finished ahead of all of them. I wouldn't focus so much on stats. That has just as much to do with scheduling and conferences. Its tough to gauge right now based on the completion both teams have played. Based on the games I've seen and the

Nebraska clips I've watched. Containment of 1st down yards. And production on offense are going to be major factors for Nebraska.

Oregon's production on first down and dictating tempo. And the defense getting stops when they need them will be major factors for Oregon.

I wouldnt sleep on the ducks defense. They spend a lot of time on the field. With Oregons quick strike offense. Its been that way for years. There a lot more to be read in stats than numbers.

That makes sense. Average yards per play is definitely the most useful stand alone defensive statistic to throw out there and base opinions on... you must be super stoked on Boston College this year, huh?

You dumb son of a bitch.

Like I was saying on the team board, their whole offense is predicated on establishing the run with Freeman. The core of their offense is very basic, but it has to work. All of the other flashy shit you see them do only works if the defense has to key in on Freeman.

Nebraska was 9th in the country last year stopping the run. There won't be some massive drop off. We rolled 8-9 bodies in last year. It'll be more like 7-8 now. The LB corps stayed intact and the secondary has only gotten better.

Then there's THE stat. Nebraska is #1 in the country in turnover margin through 2 games. If Oregon can't establish a reliable ground game, they're gonna have to pass a lot to keep up with us, and a brand new QB in his first real taste of division 1 football is bound to make mistakes. We just have to capitalize.

All it really comes down to is that we have the most frustrating quarterback in college football. He can be brilliant one series and a complete moron the next. He's got some of the best arm talent you've ever seen, but he's extremely lazy with his footwork, which I think comes from having so much confidence in his arm.

When Armstrong rolls out of the pocket to improvise, he is as dangerous as they come, but the catch is that he's dangerous for both teams. He's good for one or two YOLO bombs a game. Just 50/50 balls he had no business throwing. He hasn't changed. He's still the same frustrating motherfucker, but he's our frustrating motherfucker.

If he can find it in him not to try to be a hero and remember that it's better to punt than to force it, then we'll be just fine.

Wisconsin book it. IMO expect a shoot out tomorrow between Oregon and Nebraska
That is exactly opposite of what Nebraska needs to happen.
Shut down Freeman and pound the ball. Keep Oregon's offense off the field and burn up clock. And Nebraska is built to do just that.
A shoot out is exactly what Oregon would hope for.

Pretty much the tip of the spear as far as facilities go. Oregon thinks they're hot shit. Not even on our level.

Has this nitwit toured Oregon's? What a laughable opinion.

Even if you guys have great facilities, it cant be that great given your recent "Success"

Excellent points. But Im pretty sure Freeman finished top 5 in rushing last year. I can only think of two teams that Nebraska played with a 1000 yard rusher on the roster. Northwestern and UCLA. I could be wrong I know Nebraska didn't play OSU last year. Containing Freeman is going to be vital for Nebraska. But Oregon also runs a lot of quick screens to wideouts.

The tempo of their offense is dictated by the yardage they pick up on first down. You could see the pace pick up with big gains on first down. And slow down with minimal gains on first the pst two weeks.Containing Freeman may not be that easy. Oregon runs set plays. Designed to prevent teams from keying in on Freeman and open up lanes for him.

If Nebraska can disrupt the tempo and frustrate Prukop. Nebraska will be in great shape. But thats easier said than done.Nebraska is also going to have to watch the Oregon receivers. They gave up 147 yards and no TD's to freeman last year. But it was the Duck receivers that lit USC up. The ducks have a lot of speed on offense. Turn overs ratio will play a big role. But the Huskers will have to capitalize on turnovers. And convert them into points.

Nebraska will have to watch the big plays too tho. Oregon has the speed and skill. To eat up big chunks of yards at a time. And strike with the big play.

I expect Armstrong to have a big game. Not just passing the ball but rushing. He could pose a lot of problems for the ducks defense. I'm expecting a very high scoring game

If Nebraska has better facilties, then why haven't they won more then 11 games in years?

You will see vs Oregon, it ain't your coaches that keep losing these games, its just the state and mentality of your program.

These are the games you fired Pelini over.
