Personally spoke to Tony Barnette before the game on Friday night as he was signing autographs. He seemed fine but did not have a glove with him. I noticed he was the only pitcher not doing any throwing before the game in the outfield. He did conditioning in the outfield and if a BP ball rolled near him he would roll it back to the outfield cage. Just what I observed.

I figured today would've been a great day for the Rooster to run out one of his Sunday line ups. We already won 2 games in this series and we never hit weaver anyway. I thought the reserves might have better luck. Wish there was Gallo and Hoying in there as well. I wish Beltre and Desmond were sitting.

Any prognosis? This is the type of injury which can haunt any player, much less a pitcher, for an extended period of time.

I'm all for giving Desmond a day off and have been for over a month. Obviously it's just not going to happen.

But I'm also all for Gallo sitting on his butt and occasionally PH, and that's it.
