We have issued the 8th most walks of any team in baseball. The teams who are worse than us: Reds, DBacks, Marlins, Padres, Orioles, Braves, and Brewers. Other than Baltimore, every one of those is a bottom-feeder.

Houston has issued 100 fewer walks than us. One hundred. Nolan Ryan and Mike Maddux would be murdering someone over that stat if they were still here. And speaking of Maddux, his Nats have 70 fewer walks.

Throw. Strikes. It isn't hard. Stop walking people. Stop.

7-0 Seattle on the 2nd HR of the night for terrible Adam Lind.

I'm out.

Can we get just one decent pitching performance these days?!?!?! This is a joke. And Doug Brocail is a pathetic joke as a pitching coach. Jonathan Lucroy has already discovered multiple flaws and changes to suggest to our pitchers in just one month behind the plate, things Brocail hadn't picked up on all season. Banny admitted it was true but defended Brocail, saying it's harder for coaches than catchers to pick up flaws.

BS.
Agreed. Even Perez picked up on something he was doing wrong on his own without Brocail's help.

Both have been up and down and throw way too many pitches.

Yeah, Martin has had some problems. I was just agreeing that not enough things have been corrected by the pitching coach. Many of them by Lucroy and even one by Martin before Lucroy got here.

To me though it is no question that AJ gets moved to the pen once Colby gets back.

Without a doubt. He was already the leading candidate to be moved out of the rotation due to him not having the stuff or ability to pitch as deep into games of the other 5 guys. I'd say tonight's epic disaster was the final nail in his coffin.

Well, at least the bullpen didn't give up a run and Tanner Scheppers had a successful perfect inning in his return. So...small victory I guess.

On the other hand, Joey Gallo looked exactly the same as he always has in his one AB- badly overmatched. Yet another quick strikeout swinging for him. I know this isn't the most prudent or patient thing to say, but I'll say it anyway: I've all but given up on Joey Gallo. I think he is all hype and no substance. Being able to hit a ball 500 ft. every 50 AB with 49 K's in between won't ever get you to the big leagues. I have seen nothing but regression from him at both levels this year. I actually think he had better at-bats last year.

Actually Perez only gave up 2ER last night. He's performed the best since Sunday.

Yeah I was just busting balls really, I would be surprised if Griffin wasnt the one moved to the pen. Perez usually goes a bit deeper, even if he issues too many walks. Bottom line they all need to pitch better whether they are SP or BP guys it seems Dyson has been the most consistent of late, or Claudio......did I just type that?
