I would love to see the Eagles do.well. But there really is lititle reason to believe they will. They are more committed to their current roster than any team in the NFL..by far. And this group has never won a title. It has one proven star player. It's got a rookie coach and journeyman coordinators. Anyway you measure it, it's a huge risk.

I'd put the brakes on until Wentz does something. This could backfire. I doubt it but it's entirely possible.

Howie is doing great. I hope Deerpathdave, err Premium enjoys rooting for his new team, the Blaine Gabbert led 49ers.

He did basically undo most of Chip's moves. The ones he could at least. Hopefully he picked the right QB to go all in on.

No, just aware that the smartest people in football are 50/50 picking top QB's and nobody knows if Wentz is David Carr or Derek Carr.

I think it is fair to say the jury is out on Wentz. But with this move Howie has minimized the cost of that big trade up, or countered it somewhat, and our future doesn't look quite so mortgaged anymore at all.

I thought it was a really good move by Howie. Wentz is going to get a shot so Bradford is out of Philly in a year and everyone knows it. Hopefully, DGB works out and we can give him another pat on the back. :D

With an early bye I would have rather started Wentz week 5. I really don't see the the need to trot him out there week 1.

A laughable article at best. The basis on the analysis is that we paid too much for Bradford and too many draft picks for Wentz. While that may be true the writer refused to acknowledge any of the good he did and that alone makes his entire analysis flat dumb.

I did notice how the 49ers GM dropped from 18 to 25 when he really should be ranked lower than Howie. The Niners are going to be in the toilet for some time.

Yes. :D Getting a 1st and 4th for a guy that everyone knows is gone after this year was big.

Based on the schedule, i'd be inclined to agree.

but my guess is Daniel looks like trash out there and Wentz gives us the best chance to win. You dont want Daniel out there throwing away potential wins.

Nah, let him play. This will allow for the bye week to be a teaching week based on what he did through the first three games.

Derek Carr has started since Day 1 and it's worked out just fine for them. Big Ben, Flacco ... I think everyone remembers "David" Carr getting thrown out there and killed ... but I think we have two guys in Pederson and Reich who will put him in a conservative Offense which will help limit the amount of punishment David Carr took. As he improves they will open up the playbook a bit ... but I expect a bunch of runs, screen game and slants the first few weeks with a few deep shots sprinkled in.
