I didn't like it at first but I do now, I just hope we can get something for Rubio.

Dunn is a PG that can't shoot, but play elite defense. You know who fits that description? Ricky Rubio. The major difference is that if Dunn ever becomes 75% of the facilitator that Rubio is I will suck a dick.

Super cool that he can be more athletic so we can ooohhh and aaaahhhhh while the offense stagnates. If they wanted to go in a new direction at PG they at least could have grabbed a new skill out of it.

I thought the Dunn pick was an absolute steal for you guys. I thought for sure Boston was taking him, with at least the expectation to move him. It was a head scratcher for me that they went with Brown instead.

You guys definitely need to move Rubio. I honestly believe KAT is going to be one of the premiere players in the NBA for a decade plus. Add him with Wiggins and an improving Lavine and you guys are really dangerous. I love the team that the Wolves has assembled. Thibs will get those guys to play defense. They're my dark horse team for a playoff spot if they can put it together on defense.

Dunn is also a fantastic driver to the hoop and he finishes well. He's really strong for his position and that's going to create a ton more problems for defenses who have to collapse on his penetration. It opens up the wings for more shooting, especially when you consider him and KAT in a pick and roll. Defenses hedged off of Rubio because they dared him to shoot, but Rubio never really penetrated to the hoop. If Dunn can do that with some consistency it provides more open space for shooters on the outside. With Rubio, the other help defenders stayed at home because he wasn't a threat to get to the rim.

So they are sacrificing play making for a few layups. The Wolves don't need additional explosive athletes, they need a Point Guard. Someone to get the ball to KAT. Rubio is the most under appreciated basketball player of this decade, he is truly elite at 2 critical aspects of basketball, all anyone cares about is scoring though. Nevermind how much easier he makes it for everyone else on the team to score.....like a PG is supposed to do.

There is a reason that Minnesota scored more points, grabbed more rebounds, steals, assists, and blocks per 48 minutes. All while having fewer turnovers while he was on the court. They shot better too because he creates so many open looks for teammates. Minnesota was better in every aspect of the game when he played.......but he should be the position to replace for sure. Not PF.

This is not me knocking on Rubio. I really like him. I'm on record saying I wanted him over Curry, which I was wrong about.

Just in today's NBA, it's transitioning away from a traditional PG to dynamic guards. It's why Rondo (along with his attitude) isn't really valued anymore, despite the high number of assist both those guys get. Defensive schemes have become so much more sophisticated that it makes an offense predictable if you have a guy who's just not going to be a threat out there at all. Rubio may have more 1 to 1 assists, but if Dunn operates correctly, he should have a ton of hockey assists after defensive rotations.

It's not scoring to me that is valued, it's what the defense has to game plan for and how his play affects what the other team does. The threat of being able to score is every bit as valuable as being able to score in itself. It's why Steph Curry could be 0-10 in the game on 3's, yet every time he touches the ball you know the defense is going to run at him hard. Same with Dunn if he's able to drive the ball to the hoop with regularity, the opposition has to be ready to collapse for help. If they do that, it gives the other wing players, just a split second more of opportunity to get a clean shot. That over the course of a year's worth of games is going to add up big time, considering how great these players are.

I understand that value, I am saying Rubio puts the ball where every player on his team prefers. And he does it through windows that almost no other PG can. Even with defenders lagging off of him he creates better opportunities than most for his teammates.

Westbrook could not get himself to give up the ball to Durant.........Not a lot of better offensive weapons in the history of the game than that.
He got double digit assists last year passing to himself?

Because I just logged on and I think I'm forced to vote for your team Shane. Everyone of your players I was hoping to get. Nicely done sir. Now comes Nos's comment how I just gave Shane's team the kiss of death. Sorry Buckeye.

I couldn't believe Reggie Miller was still available. I triple checked with CTRL F. Hope I am right that he wasn't taken.
